A Florida man tried using his Pomeranian in one way that police officers could not believe

Pomeranians are small dogs that only weigh seven to ten pounds.

Despite their small size, they are aggressive and like to bark a lot.

And a Florida man tried using his Pomeranian in one way that police officers could not believe.

Dog parks are common in cities and towns across America.

The fenced in areas give dog owners a place to allow their canines to run and play without having to worry about them running off or getting hit by a car.

But some dogs just do not belong at dog parks due to their aggressive nature.

And Pomeranians are one of those breeds that can be a nightmare for other dog owners at the park.

“Despite their petite stature, Pomeranians often feel like they’re much bigger and may try to assert themselves around larger dogs at dog parks or during walks,” Dogfix.com wrote. “To encourage healthy interactions, early socialization is essential for teaching good canine manners.”

The Aventura Police Department in Florida recently received a call about an incident at a dog park between dog owners.

One of the local residents who witnessed the incident at the park described what happened to reporters.

Robin Tobias said it all started over two dogs playing rough with each other.

She said a lady’s “big dog tried playing with the small dog,” but the small dog owner “he overreacted” and “freaked out.”

“He was kind of blocking the door so she couldn’t leave so he could try and call the police on her, but when the police came, they said nothing really happened,” Tobias recalled. “There (were) no punctures.”

Police arrived on the scene to deescalate the situation and explained to 68-year-old Mordechai Oaknin that the issue at hand was a civil matter and should be taken up in court.

Oaknin responded with outrage and became “verbally aggressive” toward the police officers.

That is when Oaknin suddenly grabbed his Pomeranian and threw it directly at the police officers while shouting “take my dog and fix it!”

The dog hit an officer in the chest and fell to the ground.

Tobias told reporters he was not surprised by what happened given how crazy society is these days.

“Nothing shocks me anymore,” Tobias said. “But from what everyone says at the park, he was very overly protective of his dog.”

Oaknin was arrested and charged with aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer, animal cruelty with intent to injure or kill, and resisting an officer without violence.

Police officers in Florida have seen just about everything you can imagine over the years.

But someone trying to use a Pomeranian as a weapon had to be a first.
