Gavin Newsom might finally show California residents how much he despises people in his state

Aug 26, 2024

Gavin Newsom is chasing Californians out of his state as fast as the U-Hauls can carry them.

The California Governor has shown time and time again that there is no radical policy he will not try.

Now Newsom might finally show the remaining residents how much he despises people in his state.

California has been the least popular state for the past 4 years

Every year, U-Haul shares its list of “top growth states” based on the number of people moving into a state.

Unsurprisingly, Texas has won the number one position for growth six out of the past 8 years, only to be challenged by Florida in 2019 and Tennessee in 2020.

In 2023, Texas maintained their number one spot, Florida remained at number two, and Tennessee slipped down to number five.

But the company also reveals the state with the “largest net loss of one-way movers.”

This year, they announced that California had earned the title yet again.

“For the fourth year in a row, California reflected the largest net loss of one-way movers,” they said in a statement on their website.

Now California Democrats are making a not-so-surprising move that will likely backfire on their efforts to increase residency.

Lawmakers are working to make it easier for illegal aliens to get a mortgage in the state

The California Senate just brought a bill out of committee that they believe will help increase the number of homeowners in their state.

But they are not focusing on Californians.

The “Dream For All” program is creating a pathway to homeownership for first-time homebuyers.

Now they are moving to open the program to illegal immigrants that have settled in their state.

The Senate Appropriations Committee voted 5-2, along party lines, to approve a bill that would prohibit “Dream For All” applicants from being rejected over their immigration status.

Democrats in the state believe that illegal immigrants are being put at a disadvantage.

“When undocumented individuals are excluded from such programs, they miss out on a crucial method of securing financial security,” said Democrat Assemblyman Joaquin Arambula.

The Democrat helped push the bill out of committee, passing the General Assembly.

Now it is heading to the Democrat controlled Senate for approval before getting the nod from Newsom.

“We really just want to make sure that funds. . .are distributed equitably”

The “Dream For All” program was launched last year and was quickly taken advantage of by many California residents.

According to the Sacramento Bee, “$300 million in loans were claimed in just 11 days” when “Dream For All” was passed and it caused some concern for lawmakers.

The Bee further reported earlier this year that the program would be moving from a first-come-first basis to a lottery.

California Housing Finance Agency spokesperson, Eric Johnson said they were making the move out of concern for equity.

“We really want to make sure that funds for this round are distributed equitably,” he said.

Republican lawmakers in the state are furious.

Republican Senator Brian Dahle said the move was an “insult to California citizens who are already being priced out of homeownership.”

The program was so popular that California lawmakers had to make it a lottery.

Now they are opening the lottery to even more people.

It is unclear how any of this can work to favor equity.
