The cavalry is coming for Ron DeSantis in this ugly 2024 fight with Democrats

Aug 28, 2024

Ron DeSantis is gearing up for one of the biggest fights of his political career.

He isn’t going to walk alone into battle.

And the cavalry is coming for Ron DeSantis in this ugly 2024 fight with Democrats.

Battle over putting abortion on demand in Florida’s Constitution underway

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has made great strides in protecting life after taking office.

He signed a 15-week abortion ban and followed that up last year with a heartbeat bill that banned most abortions after six weeks.

All of that good work to protect the lives of the unborn is being threatened.

Pro-abortion forces gathered signatures to put Amendment 4 on the ballot of Florida voters this November.

The amendment would enshrine abortion on demand until the moment of birth into the Florida Constitution.

Every single law restricting abortion would be overturned including parental notification.

DeSantis has been leading the charge to fight the amendment with his political action committee, Florida Freedom Fund.

Floridians Protecting Freedom – the pro-abortion group supporting Amendment 4 – has raised nearly $40 million for the ballot fight which dwarfs the pro-life side.

Globalist billionaire George Soros and national Planned Parenthood chapters are pouring money into groups supporting Amendment 4.

Now, some more pro-life groups are joining DeSantis in the fight.

New pro-life effort to stop extreme abortion constitutional amendment

Beau Heyman, who runs the crisis pregnancy center in West Palm Beach, Florida launched the political committee Keep Florida Pro Life in June to fight Amendment 4.

The group has raised over $100,000 so far.

Heyman told the Florida Phoenix that the pro-life side is the underdog going into November.

He said that many voters aren’t aware of what’s going on with Amendment 4.

“They aren’t aware that the Governor can’t veto an amendment,” Heyman said. “They aren’t aware of the 60% threshold (required for the amendment to pass). They’re just not aware of a lot of things, so I’ve realized that when I talk to people about this amendment, you really have to start at a ‘School House Rock’ level.”

The proposed amendment needs to get 60% of the vote for it to pass.

Heyman said that he launched the group after friends of his wanted to donate to an organization fighting Amendment 4 but couldn’t find any.

His group plans on running digital ads that “push messages tailored specifically to help inform them on this issue.”

Keep Florida Pro Life joins No on 4, Do No Harm Florida, and First Life PC as groups fighting abortion on demand amendment.

Heyman said another group, Informed Church, is about to launch to fight Amendment 4.

Actress Sam Sorbo – the wife of Hercules actor Kevin Sorbo – recorded a testimonial video for the group.

“This is actually a defining moment for Christians in Florida,” Sorbo said in the video. “I believe that if we work together, if we put our faith in action and vote no, I believe the Church can single-handedly defeat this amendment.”

The pro-life movement is gearing up to stop California-style abortion laws from coming to Florida.
