A Key West job interview went horribly wrong when a woman made this awful decision

The Florida Keys are supposed to be a place to kick back and relax.

But sometimes Florida man behavior can come out in the tourists visiting.

And a Key West job interview went horribly wrong when a woman made this awful decision.

North Carolina couple seek their dream job in the Florida Keys

The Florida Keys are all about laid-back vibes and having an enjoyable time in paradise.

Tropical rocker Jimmy Buffet discovered the Keys in the 1970s and helped popularize the Key West lifestyle.

Visiting the Florida Keys is a chance to enjoy the warm weather, beaches, and festive atmosphere.

Kimberly Marie Robins, who is 47 years old, and 41-year-old Charles Fronefield Lambert from Elizabeth City, North Carolina were taking a page out of Buffet’s playbook.

They traveled to the Florida Keys to interview for a job in paradise.

But things went wrong in a hurry before they ever got the chance to interview for the job.

Normally, people prepare for a job interview by role-playing interview questions, going over information about the company, and praying.

Robins and Lambert had a different idea about how to get ready for their big interview.

They drove to Coconuts Bar & Liquor Store in Big Pine Key to do some drinking beforehand.

And that is when they discovered that they did not have to be residents to go full Florida man.

All hell breaks loose drinking before the big job interview

Robins “went into the bar, purchased a bottle of Crown Royal, and drank approximately half of the bottle in about (five) minutes,” the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office arrest report stated.

The couple got into a dispute after that, and Lambert hit Robins at the bar.

Robins decided to leave the bar in the couple’s pickup truck after drinking half a bottle of Crown Royal.

She drove the truck into the side of the building damaging it at 7:30 am.

Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Brandon Ware Rogers responded to the incident.

“The truck’s front airbags were deployed, the keys (were) still in the ignition, with the transmission still in drive,” Rogers wrote after arriving on the scene.

“I asked Kimberly if she was OK and able to step out of the vehicle. Kimberly stated she was fine and exited the truck,” Rogers added.

The Sheriff’s Deputy said in the arrest report that he could smell the “strong odor of alcohol” when Robins got out of her truck.

“Kimberly had an unsteady stance and spoke with a slowed, slurred speech,” the arrest report read.

Robins was swaying back and forth and fell over while they waited for a medic to arrive on the scene to check her for injuries.

She failed the field sobriety test and was taken to the Key West jail for a breathalyzer test.

But at the jail things fell apart quickly with Kimberly’s interaction with a Deputy.

“During the 20-minute observation period, Kimberly spat on his face and then fell out of the chair and onto the floor,” the arrest report stated.

“Kimberly then grabbed his leg and pants and would not let go after (he) gave multiple verbal commands to do so,” the report added.

The report said the sheriff’s deputy used “mechanical compliance” to “break free” from Robins.

She was arrested for DUI, resisting arrest, and felony battery on a law enforcement officer.

Lambert picked up a misdemeanor battery charge.

The couple will get an extended stay in paradise but not for the reason they were expecting.
