Illegal immigration is being driven by illegal aliens crossing the southern border.
But there is another overlooked source of it that is wreaking havoc on the country.
Foreign nationals will stay in the country long after the student and tourist visas expire to become illegal aliens.

The federal government has not done much to stop this problem and it nearly resulted in tragedy in Brevard County, Florida.
Brevard County Sheriff’s Deputy Anthony Nunez had his patrol car parked along US-1 near Palm Shores, Florida when his car was struck by a vehicle going the wrong way down the road.
Maciej Turek, 35-years-old, was heavily intoxicated while he was driving the wrong way down US-1.
Nunez turned on his lights to alert Turek, but it didn’t stop the head-on collision from occurring.
The Sheriff’s Deputy was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, but the crash could have been much worse.
Nunez wearing his seatbelt and police issue ballistic vest were credited with reducing injuries.
He is expected to make a full recovery.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers discovered that Turek, a Polish citizen, was in the country illegally.
Florida sheriff is tired of the lawlessness
Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey said that the accident would have been worse if Turek struck a family.
“You take an average family that is driving in their van; they’re not going to have their shield on,” Ivey said. “This could have been tough and even worse on a family.”
Ivey said that law enforcement discovered when Turek was taken to the hospital after the crash that he overstayed a work visa.
“He came over on a work visa; the work visa expired, and he never did anything to renew it,” Ivey explained. “He’s here in our country illegally committing crimes.”
Turek was charged with driving without a license, DUI, DUI with property damage, and DUI with injury.
He had a federal detainer placed on him so Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) could begin deportation proceedings against him.
The situation did not surprise Ivey.
“And, of course, no surprise to anyone, especially me, but on top of everything else, Turek doesn’t have a driver’s license,” Ivey said. “But, hey, why would he think he needs a driver’s license when he’s allowed to be in our country illegally even though that’s also against the law.”
The Brevard County Sheriff has dealt with an uptick in crime committed by illegal aliens during the Biden-Harris administration and he is sick of it.
“While those in Washington, D.C., may not believe in enforcing the laws of our land, our partners at the Florida Highway Patrol do,” Ivey added.
He told Florida’s Voice Radio that it was time to “close the damn border.”
“This is not something complex that we need scientists from NASA to fix for us,” Ivey stated. “This is something that’s an easy fix. Close the damn border.”
