Florida launches parallel investigation into Trump assassination attempt
Former President Donald Trump faced his second assassination attempt in as many months at his Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Secret Service agents foiled the plot after noticing a scoped rifle peaking through a fence along the sixth hole of the course.
They opened fire on the would-be assassin who was 300 to 500 yards from the hole where Trump was playing.
Martin County Sheriff’s deputies arrested the gunman later that day.
The investigation into the first assassination attempt against Trump at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania has been marred by stonewalling from the Secret Service.
Americans are still in the dark about what happened that day.
That is why Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced that this state was going to conduct its own parallel investigation to the one by the FBI.
Florida could charge the gunman with attempted murder after he was arrested on the lesser federal charges of illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number.
DeSantis said that the politicized FBI could not be trusted to conduct a thorough and fair investigation into the assassination attempt.
FBI is trying to interfere in Florida’s investigation
Fox News host Laura Ingraham asked DeSantis about the status of Florida’s investigation during an interview on The Ingraham Angle.
“My question to you tonight is, are the Feds being cooperative with your investigation? Are you concerned that you’re not getting the information you need?” Ingraham asked.
DeSantis said the Feds had not been cooperative and he was concerned about the start of the investigation.
“Our investigators were rebuffed just going to the fence line outside of Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach,” DeSantis explained. “And so, I think they’ve taken the position they don’t want the state of Florida to be involved in this.”
“But here’s the thing, there were multiple violations of Florida law across multiple jurisdictions,” DeSantis continued. “We think at least three judicial circuits. This guy, Ryan Routh committed potential violations of Florida law.”
Ingraham noted that the Feds were quick to declare the would-be assassin a lone wolf before any investigation.
DeSantis thought that it was tough to trust the information coming from the Feds.
“Yes, I don’t think that the public has confidence with what is being done,” DeSantis stated. “So, as soon as we got word of this on Sunday, I told our guys in state law enforcement, save all his social media because, you know, Facebook will delete it. The tech companies want to delete it.”
He said the investigation would try to get the public answers that have been missing from other high-profile investigations.
“And we have not gotten answers about Butler. We haven’t gotten answers about things like the Las Vegas shooting from many years ago,” DeSantis said.
Florida’s investigation could be the only chance to get the whole truth about the latest assassination attempt against Donald Trump.
