Democrats were fuming after the media helped Ron DeSantis in this unexpected way

Oct 1, 2024

Ron DeSantis has gone to war against the left-wing media dating back to the pandemic.

But his relationship with the media could be shifting.

And Democrats were fuming after the media helped Ron DeSantis in this unexpected way.

Ron DeSantis’ PAC gets a donation from MSNBC’s parent company

The biggest political fight this election in Florida does not involve any candidate.

Pro-abortion forces gathered enough signatures to put a constitutional amendment on the November ballot that would enshrine abortion on demand until the moment of birth into the Florida Constitution.

Globalist billionaire George Soros and left-wing special interests have poured tens of millions of dollars into Amendment 4 to wipe all of Florida’s pro-life laws from the books.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has been fighting Amendment 4 with his PAC, the Florida Freedom Fund.

He signed a heartbeat bill into law last year that banned most abortions after six weeks.

DeSantis received a surprising contribution to his PAC in the fight to stop abortion on demand from becoming the law of the land in Florida.

Telecommunications conglomerate Comcast, the parent company to MSNBC and NBC News, made a $50,000 contribution to the Florida Freedom Fund.

Comcast announced that it would pay up to $10,000 in travel costs for employees to get an abortion in states with strict laws against it in 2022 after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade with the Dobbs decision.

Pro-abortions fume at Comcast for donating to DeSantis’ PAC

The news that Comcast donated to the Florida Freedom Fund in the closing stretch of the battle over Amendment 4 had the Left seething with rage.

Florida Women’s Freedom Coalition was the group that helped put the amendment on the ballot.

Anna Hochkammer, the group’s executive director, was outraged at Comcast’s donation.

“It’s an example of vile corporate hypocrisy,” Hochkammer told The Bulkwark. “I would encourage everyone in Florida to think about which company they choose to give their money to.”

Florida’s Constitution requires a proposed amendment to receive 60% of the vote on the ballot to pass.

Polls show that Amendment 4 is right around that 60% mark it needs in November.

Hochkammer might be made about Comcast’s donation but she is not ready to lead a boycott against the company.

“I’ve never been happier to be an AT&T customer,” Hochkammer said. “Comcast got its wires crossed on this one.”

Center for Political Accountability president Bruce Freed claimed that Comcast could pay a price for its decision.

He stated the company’s donation to DeSantis’ PAC was “a very, very serious risk today internally and externally. Internally, it’s a problem for employees. Externally, this can upset customers and even become a problem with shareholders. Comcast is not doing its due diligence and risk assessment that is really required in today’s political environment, which is fought with risks.”

Freed is sorely mistaken if one of the leaders of the groups pushing Amendment 4 was not ready to drop her cable.

Comcast did not explain why it donated to the Florida Freedom Fund, but large publicly traded companies often donate to politicians on both sides of the aisle to try to get access.

The company’s business interests in a large state like Florida mean it must engage with the state government.

Ron DeSantis can take a victory lap knowing MSNBC helped him try to defeat abortion on demand in Florida.
