Kamala Harris’ supporting radio host was stunned to learn she caused inflation
Representative Byron Donalds (R-FL) has become one of former President Donald Trump’s top surrogates for outreach in the black community.
He ventured into hostile territory to appear on The Breakfast Club radio show.
The urban radio show is a popular destination for Democrat politicians who want to reach out to black voters.
Donalds pointed out to the hosts that Vice President Kamala Harris was responsible for inflation and the subsequent cost of living crisis.
“I would argue we’re not really thriving right now,” Donalds said. “This inflation, which by the way, was brought to us by Kamala Harris, has really slowed down people from being able to excel.”
“By Kamala?” host Charlamagne Tha God replied. “She’s Vice President. There’s still a President.”
Donalds explained Senate was deadlocked at 50-50 Senators in each party and Kamala was the tiebreaking vote in the chamber for the first two years of Joe Biden’s Presidency.
“Yes, she’s the Vice President,” Donalds replied. “Charlamagne, listen man, when Joe Biden wanted to do his American Rescue Plan, Kamala Harris was the tie-breaking vote in the U.S. Senate. She broke the tie that started this inflation, that has hurt so many people in our country.”
The inflation rate was 1.4% in January 2021 when Biden took office before the $2 trillion American Rescue Plan, a wasteful stimulus combined with special interest giveaways, was passed.
Inflation hit a 40-year high of 9.1% in the summer of 2022.
Kamala decimated the country with inflation
Guest host Angela Rye jumped in to whine that Donalds was not telling the truth.
“It’s not true? You sure you want to go there?” Donalds asked.
The Florida lawmaker pulled a sheet with facts from his suit jacket.
“He’s got notes, Angela Rye!” Charlamagne explained.
“Larry Summers wrote an op-ed back in 2021. Larry Summers was the Treasury Secretary for Bill Clinton and an economic advisor for Barack Obama,” Donalds explained. “He said that the American Rescue Plan, that Joe Biden wanted and Kamala Harris cast the tie-breaking vote in the Senate, would create a massive inflation that we have not seen in a generation. Well, guess what? Larry Summers was correct.”
Summers wrote an op-ed in the Washington Post calling the American Rescue Plan the “least responsible” piece of legislation Congress has passed in the last 40 years.
Donalds noted that he was on the House Budget Committee then, sounding the alarm about the bill’s inflationary potential.
“The problem we have in our economy today is that prices have gone up massively, wages adjusted for inflation is down, people’s pocketbooks are hurting,” Donalds said.
He asked co-host DJ Envy if he would hire someone to repair a house who broke it in the first place.
“She broke the economy,” Donalds said about Kamala.
Rye whined about the facts being given about Kamala’s record.
“Because I’m bringing facts…so now you don’t want to do it anymore? C’mon Angela, that’s not right. I want to have a fact-based conversation,” Donalds said.
