Democrats are leaving nothing to chance trying to keep Donald Trump out of the White House.
They are pulling out all the stops this fall.
And Matt Gaetz revealed his biggest fear about the election and left everyone stunned.
Matt Gaetz is worried about Trump voters
Representative Matt Gaetz (R-FL) is one of former President Donald Trump’s most outspoken supporters in Congress.
The conservative firebrand was interviewed by Politico about his thoughts on the election in the closing weeks.
Gaetz was asked what his biggest fear was concerning this year’s election.
“Displaced voters in South Georgia and Western North Carolina being able to participate in the election,” Gaetz said.
Hurricane Helene cut a path of destruction through six states in the southeast on its way to becoming the second deadliest storm in the last 50 years.
Western North Carolina was ravaged by Biblical flooding after Helene dropped record rainfall on the region.
South Georgia and Western North Carolina are two of Trump’s strongest areas in the pivotal swing states.
There are still areas of North Carolina that do not have running water and electricity nearly three weeks after the storm.
Both of those states are a dead heat in the polls with Trump having a narrow lead in the RealClearPolitics polling average in each state.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis also warned about the possibility of voting being affected in Georgia and North Carolina.
“If you look at Georgia and North Carolina, the path that this took is probably, I would say 2 to 1 Republicans in the path of that,” DeSantis told conservative talk radio show host Dana Loesch.
North Carolina was a narrow Trump victory in the 2020 Election.
“North Carolina was decided in 2020 by one percentage point. This is a state that’s been very, very competitive,” DeSantis explained. “We don’t have the luxury of just seeing 10 or 15,000 people who otherwise would have voted not be able to vote.”
There are signs in early voting in Georgia that turnout will not be affected by Helene.

Gaetz was asked about what he thought Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign was doing well so far.
“I have seen strong evidence of the Harris campaign building peer-to-peer voter contact networks in swing states at scale. This is exactly what David Plouffe wrote about in ‘The Audacity to Win,’ and he’s doing it again,” Gaetz said.
Kamala inherited President Joe Biden’s campaign but she brought on former President Barack Obama’s 2008 campaign manager David Plouffe as a senior advisor.
Plouffe developed Obama’s ground game that was based on neighbors reaching out to their neighbors to drive turnout.
A good ground game drives up turnout for a side by a couple of points which is crucial in a close election.
Gaetz was asked what the Trump campaign needs to be doing.
“Our campaign must continue tying Kamala Harris to a status quo that is both miserable and her fault. Trump gave us prosperity at home and peace in the world. Harris gives us high prices, open borders, and war everywhere,” Gaetz explained.
