Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is one of the biggest movie stars in Hollywood.

He has tried to stay out of politics during this election.

But Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson made one surprising phone call to Donald Trump over 2024.

Donald Trump talks about a surprise phone call he got after he was shot

Former President Donald Trump has been ramping up his appearances on podcasts in the closing weeks of the election.

He was a guest on the Six Feet Under podcast hosted by wrestling legend Mark Calaway who worked under the ring name The Undertaker in WWE.

Trump revealed that another WWE legend reached out to him after he was shot at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13.

Actor and wrestler Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson checked in on him to make sure that he was ok.

UFC President Dana White put the pair in touch.

“You know, [The Rock] was great,” Trump said. “I never thought he liked me. And I felt badly, because I think he’s a terrific guy.”

Johnson endorsed President Joe Biden in the 2020 Election.

“Dana White said, when I was shot — I was shot to the ear, you may have heard about it,” Trump recalled. “Rock called Dana and said, ‘I want to have his number. I want to have his number. What he did is sort of incredible.’”

“He considered it bravery. To me I considered it, ‘What’s going on here?’ But it was very nice actually, The Rock. You might mention that I said that” Trump added.

The Undertaker and The Rock squared off over the years when they starred in WWE.

Dwayne Johnson gives credit to Donald Trump

Trump pumping his fist and urging his supporters to fight after getting shot at the Pennsylvania rally will go down as a timeless photo.

Dwayne Johnson was interviewed by podcaster Patrick Bet-David at his conference in Florida where he praised Trump’s reaction.

“Whether you love Donald, don’t love Donald, it doesn’t matter. They tried to assassinate him. There’s no room for that,” Johnson said. “Despite it being who we were in that moment, I still believe in my core that is not who we are as a country.”

“So him standing up at that moment, we wanted to see that,” Johnson added.

Johnson said that Trump used to watch him wrestle for the WWE at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

“He used to come watch me wrestle all the time. That’s where we’re going now. It was great.” Johnson recalled. “He said, ‘Let me see the eyebrows.’ Got it. There it is.”

The wrestler-turned-actor put out an endorsement for Biden in 2020 but told Fox News earlier this year that ended up being a mistake.

“The endorsement that I made years ago with Biden was one I thought was the best decision for me at that time,” Johnson explained. “I realize now going into this election, I will not do that.”

He added that he was not happy with the state of the country.

The attitudes of many celebrities about Donald Trump are far less hostile this election season.
