It was like a scene from a Hollywood mob story.
A man went on a killing spree and then calmly lit up a cigarette and took a seat.
And all hell broke loose after a Florida man turned his BBQ fork into a deadly weapon.
It was a normal Monday afternoon in Riviera Beach, Florida.
Folks were grilling food and enjoying the beautiful weather Florida has, even in December.
But all hell soon broke loose when a madman went on a rampage using a BBQ fork.
A 29-year-old man, Roosevelt Loray Johnson, brutally killed a stranger who rode by on a bicycle while drinking a beer.
And multiple witnesses saw the horror scene and made statements to the police.
“Witness 3 observed [Johnson] stab the other male with an unknown object multiple times in the head and neck area,” the affidavit read. “Witness-3 even heard [Johnson] repeatedly shout: ‘DIE! DIE! DIE’ as he was continuously stabbing the unknown male.”
But the witness was shocked by what Johnson did immediately after brutally stabbing a man to death for no apparent reason.
“Witness-3 then advised that [Johnson] abruptly stopped attacking the victim, stood up calmly, and turned around to walk away,” the affidavit read. “Witness-3 then left the area but saw police and made contact with officers on scene.”
After stabbing a man to death with a BBQ fork, Johnson was not even bothered or upset.
Like a mafia boss, the witnesses were shocked to see him calmly light up a smoke and sit down to relax with blood still on his hands.
But the unnamed man on the bicycle is not the only person who Johnson attacked with his BBQ fork.
He even attempted to kill his mother and his cousin.
“McLeod [Johnson’s mother] further explained that Johnson swung overhand to stab her, but her sweater got caught/tangled with the BBQ Fork and Johnson pulled back as if he missed,” the affidavit read. “McLeod then stated that Johnson’s attention was re-diverted to his cousin, Rhiannon Phillips,” it continued. “Johnson then began to chase Phillips with the BBQ Fork but Phillips was able to barricade herself in the bathroom.”
Johnson “stormed out of the apartment” while still “holding the BBQ fork” in his hands.
That is when he attacked and murdered the victim who was just riding his bicycle and drinking a beer.
The victim was described as a 5-foot-5-inch Hispanic male between the ages of 40 and 50.
He was “bleeding and laying in the street next to his bicycle.”
Johnson told detectives that he did not know the man he killed, but asked them “is the little Guatemalan dead?”
“I just hit him,” he said. “I just started hitting him,” he continued, before adding that “he was just riding on his bike, drinking his beer.”
Johnson was arrested and charged with one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
