This Florida man’s punishment will make New Jersey residents think twice before shooting down a drone

Dec 19, 2024

Americans are growing fed up with the government’s refusal to answer questions about the mysterious drones flying over New Jersey and elsewhere.

The government’s silence has some people on the edge of taking matters into their own hands.

But this Florida man’s punishment will make New Jersey residents think twice before shooting down a drone.

Americans are starting to panic over the numerous unexplained sightings of what appear to be large drones over New Jersey and elsewhere, including military installations.

Residents have posted videos on social media showing drone lights flashing and hovering overhead in New Jersey since mid-November.

However, the Department of Homeland Security and the FBI do not appear to be taking the drone sightings seriously.

In a joint statement, they wrote that there is “no known malicious activity occurring in New Jersey.”

But this is not good enough for most Americans.

Joe Biden previously allowed Chinese spy balloons to traverse the entire United States before finally shooting one down over the Atlantic Ocean after it had gathered its information.

And now Americans are calling on the government to solve the mystery by downing one of the drones.

Donald Trump even called on the authorities to shoot down the drones.

“Mystery Drone sightings all over the Country,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “Can this really be happening without our government’s knowledge,” he continued. “I don’t think so!”

“Let the public know, and now,” Trump added. “Otherwise, shoot them down!!!”

With the government refusing to lift a finger to solve the mystery, many residents are starting to talk about taking matters into their own hands by shooting down a drone.

But New Jersey residents will think twice before they shoot down a drone when they see what happened to this 72-year-old Florida man.

In June, Lake County resident Dennis Winn shot a Walmart delivery drone flying over his property with a 9mm pistol.

According to an affidavit for Winn’s arrest, he told police that “he had past experiences with drones flying over his house and believed they were surveilling him.”

Police arrested Winn and charged him with shooting an aircraft, discharging a firearm in a residential area, and criminal mischief.

Fortunately, Winn avoided serving time in prison.

However, a judge just ordered him to pay $5,000 in restitution to Walmart for shooting the drone.

X influencer Collin Rugg shared the story about Winn on social media and said New Jersey “could use this guy right now.”

“NEW: Florida man who shot at a Walmart delivery drone over his home and joked with officers that he ‘can’t breathe,’ ordered to pay the retail chain $5000,” Rugg wrote. “New Jersey could use this guy right now,” Rugg continued. “Winn will avoid jail time as long as he is not charged with any other crimes within six months.”

The drone situation is getting out of hand.

The government’s refusal to give Americans a solid answer is only making it worse.

And only time will tell if a New Jersey resident decides to become the next Dennis Winn.

DeSantis Daily will keep you up-to-date on any new developments in this ongoing story.
