Cops often have to wear a lot of different hats on the job.
But one situation took the cake.
And a Florida cop had to make a pizza delivery after this scary discovery.
Florida cop finishes a pizza delivery after an alligator is discovered
A Florida woman was shocked when she saw who was delivering the pizza she ordered.
The Bradenton Police Department responded to a call after an eight-foot alligator was discovered in a retirement community.
“Pizza…with a side of gator?” the Bradenton Police Department wrote on X. “Officer Tolson responded to calls about an 8-foot gator in a 55+ community, intercepted a terrified pizza delivery driver, and ensured a hungry customer was fed (and a hungry gator wasn’t). All in a day’s work!”

Bodycam footage showed Officer Tolson keeping calm at the end of a cul-de-sac.
He ordered a woman who was trying to deliver a pizza to stop because the alligator hid under the car parked in the driveway.
The delivery woman was told to go around to the back of the house to drop off the pizza.
But the alligator had her nervous about going near the house.
“I’m a little scared,” the pizza delivery woman said.
Tolson told her that everything would be fine as long as the alligator was hiding out under the car.
“Do you want to do it, officer,” the pizza delivery woman asked.
Tolson agreed to do double duty that day by delivering the pizza.
Woman expecting a pizza gets the shock of her life
The police began to walk toward the woman’s house when she opened the front door.
Tolson warned the woman that there was an alligator under her car.
“Oh my God! My heavens! There’s a big alligator under my car!” the woman exclaimed.
When she started to go back into the house, the woman asked about her delivery.
“Where’s my pizza?” the woman asked.
Tolson told her he would meet her at her back door with the pizza.
He met her at the backdoor when the hungry woman threw him a curveball.
She asked how much the pizza cost and Tolson told her he had no idea because he was not the delivery driver.
“I have no idea, I’m not the pizza man,” Tolson said.
“You’re a policeman?” the surprised woman asked. “They called you?”
Tolson completed the delivery and got the cash for the driver.
The woman had one final request after she got her pizza.
“When was the alligator there?” the woman asked.
“It just got there,” Tolson said.
“Oh, I’d like to take a picture of it,” the homeowner.
Tolson told her that it would be safer if he took the photo for her.
Florida Fish and Wildlife officials were able to trap the alligator and remove it from the neighborhood.
“FWC trappers relocated the gator away from the neighborhood (and Italian restaurants),” the Bradenton Police Department said on social media.
Keeping residents safe from an alligator and delivering a pizza is all in a day’s work for a police officer in Florida.
