Ordering food for delivery is usually a painless process.
But it turned into a nightmare for a woman with the late-night munchies.
And a Florida delivery driver made one sick move that got the police involved.
Florida woman goes berserk on a late-night food delivery
A woman in Davenport, Florida thought she was placing a routine order for food delivery on the Uber Eats app.
It turned out to be anything but.
Alexsandra Del Valle Acosta Aguilar, a 29-year-old, began to eat the woman’s food and then spit it in her face.
The woman who placed the call saw Aguilar eating food from her order and then confronted the delivery driver.
And the pair began to argue when Aguilar grabbed a Happy Fall Y’all sign.
Aguilar then spit the food in the unidentified Florida woman’s face.
The woman used the fall sign as cover as she hid from the rampaging Uber Eats driver.
Aguilar grabbed four decorative pumpkins valued at $75 and a decorative urn that was part of a display outside the woman’s home and sped off.
“The victim then removed the sign from the suspect’s possession and the suspect began a verbal altercation with the victim prior to intentionally spitting on the victim against her will,” the police report stated. “Immediately after being spat on, the victim covered herself with the sign and retreated to the furthest point from the suspect before being stopped by the closed front door. The suspect then took possession of a decorative garden urn, valued at approximately $10, and began walking to her vehicle.”
The law catches up with the delivery driver who tried to start a food fight
The police tracked Aguilar back to her home in Winter Garden, Florida based on records from Uber Eats.
Aguilar admitted that she had delivered an order to the woman in question’s address in Davenport.
In total, she had made off with more than $300 worth of decorations from the woman’s home.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office said Aguilar was arrested “based upon the statement provided by the victim, the statement made by the suspect, and records from Uber Eats.”
A police statement said that the victim could not pick Aguilar out of a lineup because of memory issues, but she matched a description provided by the woman.
The victim said her Uber Eats driver was a Hispanic woman in her late 20s to early 30s with long black hair and a medium build which matched Aguilar.
Aguilar was charged with burglary with assault and grand theft from a dwelling greater than $100.
Polk County Jail records indicate that she is not eligible for bail.
Needless to say, that was the end of Aguilar’s days of freelancing as a delivery driver for Uber Eats.
“This behavior is shocking and unacceptable,” a spokesman for Uber told PEOPLE. “We removed the courier’s access to the Uber platform and are supporting law enforcement with their investigation.”
Alexsandra Del Valle Acosta Aguilar’s rampage is the worst-case scenario for anyone hungry late at night hoping to get something delivered via an app.
