Donald Trump is days away from taking the oath of office.
He has already made a massive impact since the election.
And a Florida lawmaker thanked Donald Trump for giving this liberal politician the boot.
Justin Trudeau issues shocking resignation as Canadian Prime Minister
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau suddenly announced that he was resigning after nine years as the country’s leader.
He was leaving office as soon as the Liberal Party picked a new Prime Minister.
Trudeau’s resignation came after he sparred with President-elect Donald Trump over border security.
Trump announced that he was going to put a 25% tariff on every good from Canada on day one in office unless the country did more to stem the flow of illegal aliens and fentanyl coming across the northern border.
Canadian politicians were stunned by the announcement, and it divided Trudeau’s government on how to handle the response.
Trudeau flew to Mar-a-Lago to have dinner with Trump after he made the threat toward Canada.
The President-elect began to mock Trudeau on social media by calling him the “Governor” and referring to Canada as the 51st state.
House Republican credits Trump for Justin Trudeau’s resignation
Representative Kat Cammack (R-FL) said that Trump was the reason that Trudeau threw in the towel as Prime Minister during an appearance on Fox News.
She claimed that Trudeau realized that he could not handle dealing with Trump as his counterpart.
“What would say in South, Harris, is bless his heart,” Cammack said. “He has struggled … as you said, this is no surprise to see Prime Minister Trudeau’s resignation.”
Cammack noted that Trudeau’s popularity had been steadily eroding with Canadians.
“You mention the border situation we have in Ottawa,” Cammack stated. “We know of terrorist cells that have been discovered in Ottawa that have posed a national security threat to Americans. We have trade disputes — whether it is lumber, or potatoes. We have a number of commodities we have struggled to work to negotiate a favorable trade deal.”
She argued that the same discontent that has brought down incumbent governments across the world had finally made its way to Canada.
“And so, I think you’re seeing a realignment happening in Canada, much like other places in the world where the people of that nation are sick and tired of tyrannical rule,” Cammack explained.
Cammack pointed to the move by Trudeau to crush Canadian truckers who were protesting vaccine mandates during the pandemic.
“Look no further than what happened to those truckers when they spoke out against Canadian policies, and their bank accounts were seized,” Cammack said. “This is truly a global realignment of putting the sovereign nation first.”
According to Cammack, Trudeau ultimately realized he was no match for dealing with Trump.
“And I think we have President Donald Trump to thank for that because as you mentioned and what Prime Minister Trudeau failed to recognize was he had gone to Mar-a-Lago. And I think he sat down across the table from President-elect Donald Trump and said, ‘You know, I don’t think I’m qualified to handle this.’ And I think that that’s why we’re seeing him exit stage left,” Cammack stated.
Donald Trump caused the Canadian leader to tap out rather than square off with him after he entered the White House.
