A Florida man made one wrong move that sent 44,000 pounds of Busch Beer cans across the highway

Most Americans love to drink beer.

Americans drank an average of 26.5 gallons of beer per person in 2021.

But a Florida man made one wrong move that sent 44,000 pounds of Busch Beer cans across the highway.

People have been drinking beer for thousands of years.

The Pilgrims had beer on the Mayflower with them when they landed at Plymouth Rock, but they quickly ran short due to the new climate.

“We could not now take time for further search, our victuals being much spent, especially our beer,” a Mayflower passenger wrote in his diary about running short on beer.

The Indians saved the day and taught them how to make beer from corn.

In Colonial America, by law beer had to be served in standard half-pint, pint, or quart vessels.

During the Revolutionary War, one of George Washington’s first acts was to declare that all his troops would receive a quart of beer per day with their rations.

“Patrick Henry, Thomas Jefferson, Samuel Adams, and James Madison vigorously promoted the brewing industry in the colonies,” the Beer Institute reported. “George Washington operated a small brewery at Mount Vernon. And during the Revolutionary War, he made sure his troops received a quart of beer each day,” the Beer Institute continued. “In their fondness for beer, these great men were only following an American tradition that was already well established.”

There is no shortage of beer in the modern world.

In 2023, the United States produced roughly 165 million barrels of beer.

But even though beer is widely available and fairly cheap, Americans still do not like to see alcohol wasted.

Spilling or wasting a beer has been dubbed “a party foul” by drinkers in America.

And a Florida truck driver recently committed the biggest beer-drinking party foul in recent history.

On Thursday, troopers responded to a call about an overturned truck on Interstate 75 around 2:45 a.m. in the morning.

A 53-year-old man from Doral, Florida was leaving the Interstate to stop at a rest area.

When the driver missed the curve, the truck ran off the road and flipped over on its side.

“The trailer was exiting the highway toward a rest area when the driver failed to negotiate his turn, which sent the vehicle off the roadway and caused it to overturn,” Click Orlando reported.

But this was not just a normal semi-truck.

The truck was carrying a “large volume” of Busch Light and Budweiser beer in its trailer.

“The trailer spilled a large volume of beer on the shoulder,” Click Orlando reported.

Hundreds of cans of beer weighing 44,000 pounds spilled all over the highway.

Fortunately, the driver only suffered non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to make a full recovery.

But he will forever be known as the man who committed a 44,000-pound beer party foul.
