Pizza delivery puts drivers in some unexpected situations.
In the Sunshine State, one wrong move had all hell breaking loose.
And a Florida pizza delivery driver was arrested after this trip went to hell in a handbasket.
Pizza delivery driver stabs customer over tip
A Florida pizza delivery driver went berserk when she thought that she was shorted on a tip.
Brianna Alvelo, a 22-year-old, could be spending the rest of her life in prison after one delivery from hell.
Alvelo made a delivery to the Riviera Motel in Kissimmee, Florida where she thought she got shortchanged on a tip.
A pregnant woman and her 5-year-old daughter were staying in the motel room.
The woman gave Alvelo a $50 bill for a $33 order, but she did not have enough change for that large of a bill.
That resulted in the woman digging through her purse to find cash for the pizza which resulted in Alvelo getting a $2 tip.
Alvelo was fuming over what she thought was too small of a tip.
She and a masked friend with a gun came back about 90 minutes after the delivery.
The pair searched through the women’s belongings looking for money.
Alvelo stabbed the pregnant woman 14 times while she tried to protect her daughter.
“Alvelo, who was armed with a knife, began attacking one of the victims,” the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office said. “The victim was stabbed multiple times, and items were taken from within the room.”
The pizza delivery driver and her friend fled the scene.
Crazed pizza delivery driver could pay a hefty price
The police were called and took the woman to a local hospital.
She suffered stab wounds to the arms, chest, and legs.
The victim underwent surgery for a punctured lung and was in stable condition.
Surveillance video at the motel identified Alvelo and the vehicle she drove.
The police tracked her down and arrested her but could not identify her friend because of the mask.
Alvelo is facing charges of attempted murder, assault, kidnapping, and home invasion with a deadly weapon.
Prosecutors thought her crimes serious enough to be punishable by life in prison.
“State believes that this is a punishable by life offense,” prosecutors stated. “There should be no bond set, and it should not be set for the pre-trial detention hearing.”
Alvelo is being held at the Osceola County Jail without bond while she awaits trial.
Marco’s Pizza where Alvelo worked said that there were not any red flags on her background check when she was hired.
“We are deeply saddened by the tragic incident that occurred,” a Marco’s Pizza spokesman said. “The local owner and his team are fully cooperating with local authorities, who have launched an investigation into the matter. The safety and well-being of customers and team members are always our top priority, and we are taking this incident very seriously.”
A manager at Marco’s Pizza helped the police with the investigation.
Brianna Alvelo could be spending the rest of her life behind bars because of a couple of bucks on a tip from delivering a pizza.
