Donald Trump is moving at the speed of light to enact his agenda.
He is getting a helping hand in solving one major problem facing the country.
And a Florida sheriff had one message for Donald Trump that left him grinning from ear to ear.
Florida sheriffs will be on the frontlines of apprehending illegal aliens for deportation
President Donald Trump is ramping up his administration’s efforts for the mass deportation of illegal aliens.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents are conducting nationwide sweeps to arrest illegal aliens.
There are about 8,500 employees working in ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO).
State and local law enforcement is going to be the tip of the spear for turning over illegal aliens they arrest to ICE for deportation.
The 287(g) program allows ICE to delegate certain immigration powers to state and local law enforcement including detaining illegal aliens who have been arrested for committing a crime.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is deploying every resource available in the Sunshine State to help the Trump administration with mass deportations.
The state’s sheriffs were given extra funding from the state to help them increase immigration enforcement efforts.
Florida Sheriff is ready to help ICE nab illegal aliens
St. Johns County, Florida Sheriff Robert Hardwick is working with ICE through the 287(g) program.
He told Fox News that he felt an obligation to step up and help federal authorities crack down on illegal immigration.
“Deputy sheriffs have been working on Interstate 95 with our Customs and Border Patrol, with ICE, and with ERO,” Hardwick said. “We’ve been working with all of our federal partners to go ahead and enforce not just immigration, but also enforce human trafficking, sex trafficking, guns, narcotics, and every illegal activity that’s going on out there.”
St. Johns County Sheriff’s Deputies are arresting anyone pulled over on a traffic stop who cannot prove their American citizenship.
The department is notifying ICE about the illegal aliens they have apprehended.
“Our deputy sheriffs will take you to the St. Johns County Jail for driving with no valid driver’s license,” Hardwick explained. “And we’ll roll your fingerprints into the systems. We’ll also run it through a system called IAQ [Immigration Alien Query]. And it will show if you have a civil deportation letter or maybe a warrant for your arrest.”
“We run IAQ almost daily in St. Johns County Jail,” Hardwick added. “And we have detainers almost daily.”
Hardwick said that Florida’s sheriffs are going to be the “tip of the spear” in the state for apprehending illegal aliens.
“And that means we’re going to actually hold all the sheriffs accountable and let them play in the sandbox and make sure we’re working with our federal partners to enforce these deportations, holds and our lists,” Hardwick said.
State and local law enforcement discuss with federal authorities the most wanted violent criminal illegal aliens in Florida.
“And a simple warning, that in the state of Florida, if you are wanted — whether you’re an illegal alien or you’re a citizen of the United States — we are going to hunt you down to find you and hold you accountable for your actions,” Hardwick stated.
Local law enforcement will help with the heavy lifting of apprehending illegal aliens for deportation.
