Most men know not to ask a woman about her age.
Many women would not give a truthful answer even if a man asked for it.
But this Florida woman just found out the hard way that sometimes it is not OK to lie about your age.
Some women will do just about anything to try and stay young looking for as long as possible.
They are willing to spend every penny they have on skin creams, treatments, and facials that they believe will help them maintain their youthful look for longer.
Most men are taught early in life that “ladies don’t tell their age.”
“A woman will never want to age,” The digital Youthing Magazine wrote. “They will always want to be seen young, feel young, and also act young,” the article continued. “With the evolving generations, it’s not abnormal to see a 50-year-old in a minidress with shades and piercings everywhere.”
But one Florida woman recently found out that lying about your age can land you in the slammer.
Veronica Torres, a 44-year-old, attempted to pass as her mother to apply for the City of Bradenton’s Hurricane Disaster Assistance Program by claiming she was forced to move out of her home due to hurricane damage.
Torres used her mother’s name, driver’s license, and social security information in her effort to scheme thousands of dollars that are supposed to be for hurricane victims.
“Bradenton Police said 44-year-old Veronica Torres used her mother’s name, driver’s license, and social security information to apply for the City of Bradenton’s Hurricane Disaster Assistance Program claiming she was forced to move out of her home due to hurricane damage,” news channel 13ABC reported.
She requested $8,000 in assistance, which was nearly approved.
However, one of the Bradenton city employees noticed the age difference between how Torres looks and what it says on her application.
When the employee questioned Torres, she gave the most awful excuse in the world.
She claimed that she had undergone “botox treatments” that allegedly made her look decades younger than she really is.
The employee asked her to come back the following day.
But this time law enforcement was waiting to ask Torres a few questions.
“Unconvinced, the employee asked Torres to return the following day, and promptly alerted the Bradenton Police Department,” MSN reported. “When Torres returned on Friday, she was met by detectives who quickly uncovered her fraudulent scheme.”
“Her explanation of ‘Botox treatments’ failed to convince the employee,” police said.
She was arrested and charged with a third-degree felony count of filing a false public assistance claim.
Normally, a woman lying about her age would not be a big deal.
It is expected.
But when it comes to stealing money through fraud, it is not OK for a woman to lie about her age or anything else.
