The stars of Ghost Adventures hunt for paranormal activity.
A frightening moment happened when they were not looking.
And a Ghost Adventures star found out reality is scarier than TV after this bad crime.
The wife of a Ghost Adventures star hired a hitman to whack him
The Discovery Channel reality show Ghost Adventures features four ghost hunters investigating paranormal activity at spooky locations.
Sometimes the creepiest things happen off the set.
The wife of one of the show’s stars, Aaron Goodwin, was arrested for allegedly hiring a hitman to kill him.
Victoria Goodwin was arrested in Las Vegas, Nevada for conspiracy to commit murder and soliciting to commit murder.
She had been messaging an inmate at a prison in Florida about hiring someone to kill her husband since October 2024.
“Am I a bad person? Because I chose to end his existence. Not divorce,” a text message from Victoria to the inmate read.
Police alleged that she offered to pay the inmate $11,515 for the hit on her husband.
Ghost Adventures filming location in California and information about Aaron Goodwin’s hotel location were passed along to the Florida inmate.
The 48-year-old ghost hunter was in California when the hit was supposed to go down last fall.
“He’s asleep right now in the hotel room … I need to know what’s going on. Can I get an update. Was it done?” the Florida inmate is alleged to have texted the hitman.
Aaron Goodwin is still alive and it is not clear how seriously his life was in danger from the plot against him.
Wife denies all wrongdoing despite the evidence
The murder-for-hire plot was discovered after the Florida inmate’s contraband cellphone was discovered by the prison’s guards.
Victoria Goodwin denied that she wanted to kill her husband.
She said that she and Aaron were going through a rocky period in the marriage.
Victoria told the police that she thought the discussion about money with the Florida inmate was for cellphones and that she did not remember sending any message about killing her husband.
Any discussions about being upset with Aaron were just her “daydreaming or fantasizing about being without her husband.”
This alibi did not fly with the police and they booked her.
Victoria Goodwin is being held in the Clark County, Nevada jail with bail set at $100,000.
Her husband was stunned at the news.
TMZ reported that he was “blindsided and devastated at this turn of events” and “thought he was in a happy marriage,” according to their sources.
Aaron and Victoria Goodwin were married at the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland in August 2022.
The couple had posted seemingly happy pictures on social media for Valentine’s Day last month.
Aaron was the cameraman for his friend and paranormal investigator Zak Bagans on Ghost Adventures since the show debuted in 2008.
Bagans told TMZ “it’s an emotional time” for his friend and “he’s trying to give him love and support.”
The murder-for-hire plot by Victoria Goodwin is scarier than anything her husband’s show ever found looking for ghosts.
