Joe Biden tries to illegally protect illegal aliens
One of the top priorities for President Joe Biden has been to bring as many illegal aliens as quickly as possible into the country.
He has abused his parole authority which is meant for extraordinary situations to give hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens legal status in the United States.
Sixteen states and the America First Legal Foundation, a group created by members of the first Trump administration, filed a lawsuit in federal court in August over an illegal amnesty program by the Biden-Harris administration.
Biden abused his “parole in place” authority to provide a pathway to citizenship for illegal aliens married to American citizens and stepchildren of Americans who were illegal aliens.
This was a cynical ploy to try to boost Vice President Kamala Harris with Hispanic voters in the swing states of Arizona and Nevada.
She lost both states to former President Donald Trump.
The states of Texas, Idaho, Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, North Dakota, Ohio, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, and Wyoming joined the lawsuit against the Biden-Harris administration.
As many as 1.5 million illegal aliens could have received amnesty under the Biden-Harris administration’s decision.
They would have been shielded from deportation, received work permits, and had a pathway to citizenship available to them.
Judge shuts down Biden’s backdoor amnesty scheme for illegal aliens
District Judge John Campbell Barker ruled against the Biden-Harris administration because there was no legal basis to grant parole to illegal aliens in the United States.
His ruling blocked the program from going into effect.
The Biden-Harris administration can appeal the ruling but they are running out of time before President-elect Donald Trump takes office.
Trump has vowed to dismantle the program as soon as he returns to office.
“Crooked Joe’s action today is an illegal, unconstitutional amnesty without approval from Congress, no approval from the courts, or the American people,” Trump said at a campaign rally this summer. “When I’m re-elected, Joe Biden’s illegal amnesty plan will be ripped up and thrown out on the very first day that we’re back in office.”
Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey said that states had no choice but to stand up to the Biden-Harris administration’s lawlessness after the ruling.
“Joe Biden and Kamala Harris created a crisis at the southern border, leaving the American people to pay the consequences,” Bailey stated. “In the wake of the federal government’s refusal to act, states like Missouri had no choice but to step in and take action to secure our southern border.”
America First Legal Executive Director Gene Hamilton said the judge’s ruling stopped the largest executive amnesty in American history.
“Since day one, the Biden-Harris Administration has dedicated itself to the decimation of our immigration system and the erasure of our borders,” Hamilton said in a statement. “Time and again, the States stood up. And today, the great State of Texas and the courageous Ken Paxton, alongside a coalition of other brave Attorneys General, succeeded in stopping an illegal program that would have provided amnesty to hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens and paved the path for the largest administrative amnesty in American history.”
Joe Biden is trying to use his remaining time in the White House to bring as many illegal aliens into the country as possible.
