Florida has become one of the hottest locations under Ron DeSantis.

The Sunshine State could be adding another high-profile resident.

And a legendary beer brand got one offer from Ron DeSantis that could change Florida.

Ron DeSantis heads to Ireland for the start of college football season

The college football season kicked off with the 2024 Aer Lingus College Football Classic in Dublin, Ireland.

Nearly 40,000 Americans made the trip to watch the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets upset the Florida State Seminoles in a 24-21 nail-biter that was decided on the final play of the game.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was one of the Americans who made the trip to Ireland to take in the game.

But he had another purpose for his weekend visit.

DeSantis was meeting with European businesses in the Irish capital to boost economic development in the state.

Ireland’s low corporate tax has resulted in over 12,000 multinational companies setting up shop in the country, with many establishing headquarters there. The city of Dublin has seen major investment from scores of American companies such as Pfizer, Citibank, Google, and Mastercard.

“I’m going to be going over there and we’re going to be doing some business development,” DeSantis told reporters before the trip. “We’re meeting with a bunch of Irish companies, we’re going to continue to try to expand some of our economic relationships across the pond.”

The Florida Governor said at Space Coast Regional Airport in Titusville that he hoped to lure the most famous Irish brewer to the Sunshine State.

“If you happen to have a little bit more space at this industrial park, if I could get them to put a Guinness factory in Florida, I mean, that would be really tough to pass up. I’m going to get to work on that,” DeSantis joked.

He previously revealed that Guinness is the beer that he and his wife prefer.

“If we ever go out to just have a beer — which admittedly we don’t have the opportunity to do that like we used to, you know — we actually like the stout, Guinness,” DeSantis said during an interview on The Benny Show.

Ron DeSantis wants to lure SpaceX to Florida

DeSantis was in Titusville to award the airport with $5.8 million to expand to help lure more aerospace businesses to the region.

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin private space company uses Cape Canaveral Space Force Station as one of its launch sites.

DeSantis said that he would like to get Tesla founder Elon Musk’s SpaceX to the Sunshine State.

“And so, whether that means SpaceX headquarters, I don’t know, but I do know that we’ve continued to see companies that have come in various sizes,” DeSantis explained.

He said that Florida is an attractive location for any company doing commercial space launches.

“We’re in a situation where we’re in this great commercial space investment boom, and I think we have a lot more runway to be able to do on that,” DeSantis said. “Though the federal government clearly is playing a role, but our role, I think, is to say, ‘What infrastructure do we need?’ particularly in this area, to be able to continue to make this part of Florida the number one place for space anywhere in the entire world.”

Florida could have a bright future in the growing commercial space industry.
