Thieves always think they are entitled to other people’s stuff.
But this home robbery had a bizarre twist that nobody saw coming.
And a naked burglar was caught with his pants down holding one item that will leave you speechless.
High on drugs and on the prowl
A person high on drugs is unpredictable.
Sometimes they just eat a bunch of food and go to sleep.
Other times strung-out folks roam the streets talking to “other people” (who are invisible to everyone else).
But in one Florida town, Austin Alexander Smith was high on drugs and decided to go on a little adventure, into someone else’s house.
Even more bizarre he ventured into a stranger’s house, naked.
A naked surprise
At 1:30 a.m., homeowners were awakened from a deep sleep to a loud bang at the front door, Fox News reported.
Terrifying.
There is nothing worse than being sound asleep in one’s home only to find out an intruder had made their way in.
But when the homeowners went to investigate what was happening inside their home nothing prepared them for what they witnessed next.
Standing in their own living room was Smith, wearing only a shirt.
That is right.
He had on no pants and he was not even wearing any shoes.
It was shocking.
A man with no pants had broken in their home, determined to take the goods.
But then things got even more bizarre.
To the homeowner’s bewilderment, Smith was holding something in his hands he wanted to take.
It was not an expensive piece of jewelry, and it was not a hidden stash of cash.
As it turns out, when Smith was busted, he was simply holding the homeowner’s container of carpet cleaner in his hands, Fox News reported.
Carpet cleaner!
Of all the things he could have picked up, this drugged-out lunatic went for the carpet cleaner.
No “memory” of the incident
When the resident saw the naked man standing in his living room holding the carpet cleaner, he shouted at him to leave.
The startled man apparently dropped the carpet cleaner and took off, but was found by the police moments later.
Smith told police he did not “remember” kicking down the door and breaking in.
According to police Smith was high on meth.
Clearly.
But while Smith might not “remember” breaking into someone’s house he is paying the price as he was charged with burglary of an occupied dwelling.
All for a container of carpet cleaner.
Florida man stories are truly wild.
Just when police thought they have “heard it all,” another Florida guy goes off the rails and does something wild.
Thankfully, no one was hurt in this crazy story, and while the homeowners were clearly startled, they will have a story to tell their kids and grandkids one day!
DeSantis Daily will keep you up-to-date on any developments to this ongoing story.
