Snow White actress attacks Trump voters on social media
Disney’s movie business has been struggling for years turning out box office bombs.
The company’s streaming business is barely turning a profit after having lost billions of dollars.
Disney lost nearly $1 billion on nine movies in a stretch from late 2022 to the summer of 2023.
Remaking a timeless classic like Snow White seemed it like would be a safe bet for the company.
But the movie’s star went on a tirade against Trump supporters after the results of the election.
Celebrities have had all sorts of meltdowns to President-elect Donald Trump defeating Vice President Kamala Harris.
23-year-old actress Rachel Zegler, who stars as Snow White in the live-action remake, attacked Trump supporters and demanded people leave the social media platform X.
“I find myself speechless in the midst of this. Another four years of hatred, leaning us towards a world I do not want to live in,” Zegler ranted on an Instagram story. “May Trump supporters and Trump voters and Trump himself never know peace.”
Zegler claimed it was “absolutely terrifying the number of people who stand behind” Trump.
She demanded her followers delete their accounts on X because she claimed that social media owned by Telsa CEO Elon Musk helped elect Trump.
Zegler continued to rant by claiming there was a “deep, deep sickness” that so many people voted for a “man who threatens our democracy.”
New Snow White could be a historic box office disaster
The majority of the country voted for Donald Trump and Zegler went out of her way to alienate them ahead of the biggest movie release of her career.
Snow White is scheduled to open next March after years of delays and reshoots.
The movie’s budget has run well over $200 million which would make it nearly impossible for it to recoup its money after marketing costs.
Zegler is no stranger to controversy.
She said that she “hated” the original 1937 animated Snow White because Prince Charming seemed like a “stalker.”
The actress said the remake would be updated to the sensibilities of modern audiences and would become a feminist tale.
“I mean, you know, the original cartoon came out in 1937 and very evidently so. There’s a big focus on her love story with a guy who literally stalks her. Weird! Weird. So we didn’t do that this time,” Zegler said last year.
Disney removed the beloved seven dwarves from the remake of “Magical People” because the concept of dwarves as characters was considered culturally insensitive.
The Snow White remake is already set up to be another woke catastrophe for Disney.
Audiences continue to reject Disney’s content because the company turned away from family-friendly entertainment to push a left-wing agenda.
The company refuses to learn its lesson after losing billions of dollars.
