The Satanic Temple declares war on Florida
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed a bill into law in April that allowed government schools to “authorize volunteer school chaplains to provide support, services, and programs to students.”
Students could participate as long as they had the consent of a parent or a guardian.
The volunteer chaplain program was designed to give students another avenue for support and guidance.
Bad actors wanted to take advantage of the law.
The Satanic Temple (TST) is raising hell about not being able to participate in the volunteer school chaplain program.
“Floridian TST members, supporters, & allies are standing up for true religious freedom & confronting theocracy,” the Satanic Temple wrote on X. “Ready to stand with us and raise hell?”
A school participating in the program must have the principal vet any potential chaplains.
The program defines religion as an organization that “acknowledges the existence of and worships a supernatural entity or entities that possesses power over the natural world.”
Florida Education Commissioner Manny Diaz said the policy would “ensure that credible chaplains can volunteer in Florida’s schools.”
But Florida Chapter of American Atheists member Devon Graham told WOKV, “I think this was written to be exclusionary.”
Woke Satanists are not welcome in Florida schools
The Satanic Temple is a recognized religion by the IRS, but the group is non-theistic.
They do not actually worship Satan.
It is a group of woke atheists who use satanism as cover to push back against Christianity in public places by being as offensive and outlandish as possible.
The Satanic Temple put up a statue of a Baphomet, a goat creature used by the occult, at the Iowa State Capitol during Christmas to get Christians to pull the plug on any celebration of the holiday.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis vowed that Florida is where woke goes to die.
He shot down the idea of Satanists participating in the program in April.
“We’re not playing those games in Florida,” DeSantis said. “That is not a religion. That is not qualifying to be able to participate in this. We’re going to be using common sense … you don’t have to worry about that.”
TST Executive Director of Operations Rachel Chambliss told the Daily Caller the group is ready for a fight with Florida violating its civil rights.
“Should any of Florida’s school districts choose to implement DeSantis’ suggested model policy, we are prepared to challenge these policies so that we can participate in the School Chaplain programs,” Chambliss stated. “We intend to turn this assault on our First Amendment rights into a learning opportunity for legislators nationwide: the only way to keep Ministers of Satan out of your public school system is not to invite religion into public spaces.”
Satanists want to go to war with Ron DeSantis over his school chaplain program.
That is a fight they will likely live to regret.
