Byron Donalds is one of the rising stars in the Republican Party.
He is taking the next step in his career by running for Florida Governor.
And Byron Donalds could not believe his luck after Democrats cooked up this bad scheme.
Never Trump MSNBC host considers a run for Florida Governor
The Democrat Party in Florida is in bad shape after getting shellacked in the last two elections.
Democrats have a depleted bench of potential candidates to turn to for the governor’s race next year.
The rumored candidates are either State Representatives or State Senators with no statewide name identification.
In Florida, it is expensive to run a statewide campaign, and few Democrats seem interested in launching a longshot bid for Governor.
One Never Trumper is considering taking on this tall task.
RINO Former Representative David Jolly (R-FL) represented the Tampa area in the House until 2017.
Jolly left the Republican Party over President Donald Trump in 2018 and became a contributor to MSNBC.
“I am very seriously considering a run for governor,” Jolly said. “It’s clear to me there is a coalition of Floridians that want change.”
Jolly has been meeting with Florida Democrats ahead of a potential run.
He would run as a Democrat.
Representative Byron Donalds (R-FL) is already in the race with Trump’s endorsement.
Florida First Lady Casey DeSantis is reportedly considering throwing her hat in the ring.
Democrats pin their hopes on RINO-turned-MSNBC contributor
Democrats in Florida have won a single statewide election, a narrow win in the 2018 Agriculture Commissioner race, since former President Barack Obama carried the state in 2012.
The 2024 Election is the first time in decades that neither party contested the state in the Presidential contest.
National Democrats have abandoned the state after it began shifting to the Right.
Democratic National Committee finance chair Chris Korge said Jolly is a “very interesting candidate” whose views line up with the state.
“He’s certainly in the middle more — and in Florida, clearly the electorate is more middle, middle-right,” Korge told Politico. “I would not count him out winning a primary.”
Jolly believes if he gets in the race, he will have the support of Democrats and could raise the money needed to win in Florida.
“Some of the largest donors in Democratic circles have indicated to me personally that if you get into this race, we’ll now reconsider coming into Florida,” Jolly claimed.
The Democrat Party’s base has shifted hard to the Left in recent years and is frustrated with their politicians in Washington, D.C. for not doing enough to fight Trump.
Democrats ran former RINO Governor Charlie Crist in the 2022 Midterm Elections, who was beaten by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis by 20 points.
Florida Democrat and 2010 Gubernatorial nominee Alex Sink warned that Jolly could have problems with the base.
“I flat out said to him: ‘Look, you’ve got to overcome the Charlie Chris problem. You’re going to have to do a lot of hard work and a lot of groundwork in convincing the Democratic base that you’re aligned with our values,’” Sink said.
David Jolly might be popular with the set of MSNBC, but he has got zero appeal to most Democrats and none with Republicans in Florida.
Florida Democrats would set themselves up for another humiliating loss if they ran him for Governor.
