Canada started one awful war with Florida that they will live to regret

Tensions are rising between the United States and Canada.

Florida is getting caught in the crossfire.

And Canada started one awful war with Florida that they will live to regret.

Canadians target Florida in their trade war with the United States

President Donald Trump has been playing hardball with Canada by imposing some tariffs on the country and threatening to put a 25% tariff on all their products.

Trump asked Canada to do more to stop the flow of illegal aliens and fentanyl coming into the United States through the northern border.

Canada’s TD Bank paid a record $3 billion fine last year to the Biden Justice Department after its American branches engaged in laundering money for the Mexican drug cartels.

The cartels have used Canada to set up “super labs” to produce fentanyl to get around security at the southern border.

Canadians are threatening to boycott the United States over Trump’s tariffs.

Florida could feel the wrath of angry Canadians.

The warm weather and sunshine make Florida a popular vacation destination for tourists and snowbirds looking to escape Canada’s harsh winters.

Canadian hockey legend Wayne Gretzky, a Palm Beach, Florida resident with dual citizenship, has come under fire from Canadians over his support for Trump.

Justin Trudeau warns Florida will pay a price

Former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau singled out Florida as a state that could pay a price for boycotts.

“Canadians are hurt, are angry,” Trudeau said. “We’re going to choose to not go on vacation in Florida or Old Orchard Beach or wherever. We’re going to choose to try to buy Canadian products and forgo bourbon and other classic American products. Yeah, we’re probably going to keep booing the American anthem.”

He encouraged Canadians to do their part by “foregoing Florida orange juice altogether.”

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis dismissed the impact of a Canadian boycott.

The Sunshine State has faced various boycotts and travel advisories from left-wing groups but continues to have record-setting tourism under DeSantis.

“That’s not much of a boycott in my book,” DeSantis said about Canada. “Maybe they wanted to get a glimpse of what a Stanley Cup-winning hockey team actually looks like.”

The Florida Panthers defeated the Edmonton Oilers in the Stanley Cup finals last year.

A Canadian NHL team has not won the Stanley Cup since the Montreal Canadiens in 1993, a sore spot for a country where hockey is the national sport.

Florida draws the most international tourists from Canada and residents often buy vacation homes in the state.

Canada gets 40% of its seafood from Florida as well as significant quantities of orange juice, citrus fruits, tomatoes, and strawberries.

“These are big positions in terms of what Florida produces and exports that Canada buys, and they won’t be so easily diverted to other markets given the time-sensitive nature of the product,” Miami-based Canadian counsel Sylvia Cesaratto said.

Canadians cannot find warm weather in their country in the winter.

DeSantis said that the boycott was hot air.

“I’m running into Canadians left and right,” DeSantis stated. “It’s anecdotal, but they’re here, they are here. They’re vacationing. There has not been a boycott of Florida.”
