A courtroom is supposed to be a place where order is upheld.
But introducing a Florida man into it creates a combustible situation.
And chaos erupted when a brawl nearly broke out in a Florida courtroom for this awful reason.
Florida man convicted of murder for his role in a Kanye West-branded sneaker robbery
George Walton and Adrian Cosby were convicted of the murder of a high school senior in April 2020 during an attempted sneaker purchase.
High school students Andrea Camps-Lacayo and Sergio Berben had a business of buying and reselling sneakers.
Walton arranged to meet them to buy Yeezy sneakers, a line of shoes from rapper Kanye West, at an abandoned house in Homestead, Florida after contacting them on social media.
The high school students planned to sell three pairs of Yeezy sneakers that were worth about $930.
Walton asked to try the shoes on before he bought but the students wanted to see the money upfront.
Cosby snuck up on Berben and Lacayo while they were in their vehicle and shot both.
Berben was nicked in the arm but his companion was hit in the chest and began to lose consciousness.
He drove his vehicle to safety and got medical help for Camps-Lacayo.
But she passed away from her gunshot wounds after surgery in a hospital.
Convicted murder tries to start a fight in the courtroom
A jury found Adrian Cosby guilty of first-degree murder, first-degree attempted murder, and robbery with a firearm.
Miami-Dade Circuit Court Judge Miguel M. De la O sentenced him to two life sentences for the murder and a concurrent 25-year sentence for the robbery.
Alexander Camps, the father of Andrea Camps-Lacayo, was allowed to read a victim impact statement in the Miami-Dade County courtroom.
“You are the epitome of evil and darkness that this world represents,” Camps said. “There’s no forgiveness on this earth for animals like you. There’s only one place animals like you belong, and that’s in prison for the rest of your life.”
“This court today confirmed once again that truth that we all seek — the truth that you are a fool, a liar, and a monster for what you did not only to Andrea but our whole entire family and friends,” Camps added.
He read the statement while pointing at Cosby.
Camps blamed Cosby’s criminal behavior on his poor upbringing which sent the convicted murderer over the edge.
Cosby leaped out of his chair and tried to charge Camps and his family.
“What the f*** are you talking about b****,” Cosby yelled as he rushed to his victim’s family.
Six police and correctional officers raced to subdue him.
Court officials had to restrain Cosby before they dragged him out of the courtroom while he was still shouting profanities.
Walton was convicted of murder in a separate trial and sentenced to life in prison.
“I told you last time that I can’t give you justice,” Judge de la O told the Camps family. “This is a tragedy for everybody. They lost their son and you lost your daughter. And there’s nothing I can do for anyone.”
