The rumor mill is churning about Deion Sanders’ future in coaching.
He is going to face some tough decisions this offseason.
And Deion Sanders could make a massive move if one hang-up gets solved.
Deion Sanders could be headed to the Dallas Cowboys if one demand is met
Colorado Buffalos head football coach Deion Sanders loves the spotlight.
He became one of the most talked about coaches in college football after he landed in Boulder.
Sanders turned the Buffalos into a Big 12 contender in his second season on the job, but rumors have swirled about his future in Colorado.
Heisman Trophy contender Travis Hunter announced he is heading to the NFL after the season.
Buffalos quarterback Shedeur Sanders, Deion’s youngest son, is also headed to the NFL.
The timing is perfect for Coach Sanders to leave Colorado with his two best players headed to the NFL.
Shedeur might not be the only member of his family making the move to professional football according to one NFL Hall of Famer.
Dallas Cowboys legend Michael Irvin told FS1 host Collin Cowherd that Sanders would take the Cowboys job, but they would have to draft his Shedeur to play quarterback.
“100%. I can tell you, good sources have told me that,” Irvin said. “Great sources have told me that.”
Sanders played five seasons for the Cowboys as a cornerback and was a teammate with Irvin.
Current Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy is likely going to be fired after a dreadful season in Dallas.
One major obstacle to this plan is that Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is the highest-paid player in the NFL after signing a four-year $240 million extension in September.
Getting rid of him would be a massive hit to the team’s salary cap and he had a no-trade clause.
Even with the obstacles, talking heads in the sports media like ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith have called for the Cowboys to make the move.
Signs that Deion Sanders could be staying in Colorado
The Buffalos need a quarterback with Shedeur Sanders off to the NFL after this season.
Five-star high school quarterback Julian Lewis from Georgia committed to play for Colorado next season.
Lewis is in an advantageous position to come in as a true freshman and start right away.
Coach Sanders told ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg that he was staying in Colorado.
“I’m happy where I am, man,” Sanders said. “I’ve got a kickstand down. You know what a kickstand is? … That means I’m resting. I’m good, I’m happy, I’m excited. I’m enthusiastic about where I am. I love it here, truly do.”
“It says a lot about what we plan on being and the stability that we’re going to be here for a while,” Sanders continued. “We ain’t going nowhere. We’re about to get comfortable.”
Deion Sanders is going to be a hot name in the coaching rumor mill for college football and the NFL this year.
Coach Prime was in the limelight as a player in the NFL and it carried over to his college coaching career.
