Deion Sanders could make his return to Florida after this shocking move

Deion Sanders is the most polarizing coach in college football.

His future is always the subject of intense speculation.

And Deion Sanders could make his return to Florida after this shocking move.

Florida State’s dreadful season creates rumors of a coaching change

Colorado Buffalos head coach Deion Sanders was the flashiest player in the NFL during his playing days.

He has turned into one of the most talked about coaches in college football because of his brash style and self-promotion.

“Coach Prime” took over a one-win Colorado team and turned them into a contender for the Big 12 Conference title in his second season.

Colorado star wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter, and Deion’s son quarterback Shedeur Sanders are expected to declare for the NFL draft after the season.

That could be the right time for Sanders to look for his next job with the Buffalos in transition after losing their two-star players.

Coach Prime is a native of Florida and was a two-time Unanimous All-American as a cornerback for the Florida State University Seminoles in the 1980s under Hall of Fame Coach Bobby Bowden.

Florida State is suffering through a nightmare season that has the seat getting warm for head coach Mike Norvell.

Norvell led the Seminoles to a 13-0 record last season before the team was snubbed from the College Football Playoff after quarterback Jordan Travis was lost for the season to a knee injury.

This year everything has gone wrong for Florida State after the team got off to a 1-9 start.

Novell looked like he had the program moving in the right direction, but this season’s disaster has thrown everything into question.

ESPN SEC analyst Paul Finebaum called this season a historic disaster for Florida State during an appearance on the Matt Barrie Show.

“It is the biggest fall-off in college football history,” Finebaum said. “I mean Michigan, they lost their head coach. Three to five losses were projected. Three would’ve been great, four likely, five disappointing. But Florida State was a top-ten team when the season began, there’s no excuse for that. Mike Norvell has literally lost all of the goodwill he had from a year ago. It’s gone.”

Paul Finebaum suggests Florida State could bring Coach Prime home

Finebaum pointed out that bringing in a former player as a coach has become a trend in college football.

“We’ve both watched a lot of schools bring back their favorite son,” Finebaum said. “Deion couldn’t get a phone call from Florida State a couple of years ago, but in fairness, what had he done? Now, I mean, he’s one of the hottest coaches in the country. A lot of people were wrong, but that doesn’t matter. That’s who Deion is, he proves people wrong. He’s also arguably the most famous football player to ever step foot in that stadium, and that’s including a lot of people, by the way.”

Florida State’s administration could bring Sanders in to provide a jolt for the reeling program.

“It’s inconceivable, or is it, that Florida State would say, ‘Deion, we want you back. Mike Norvell, we’re sorry. We think you’re a great guy. Here’s your buyout. Catch you later,’’ Finebaum said. “Florida State, a year ago, was talking to all the Wall Street banks about buying their way out of the ACC. They have no credibility now. They need an infusion, more than any program in this country.”

Florida State looks like they are standing by Norvell but crazy things happen during college football’s coaching carousel.
