Donald Trump mulled over appointing this Florida sports icon to his administration

Dec 3, 2024

Donald Trump has brought some big names into his incoming administration.

He might fill it out with some star power from the Sunshine State.

And Donald Trump mulled over appointing this Florida sports icon to his administration.

Hulk Hogan says Trump might have a spot for him in his administration

Professional wrestling legend Hulk Hogan was one of the most visible celebrity supporters of President-elect Donald Trump in the election.

Hogan gave a rousing speech at the Republican National Convention (RNC) in July where he leaned into his 1980s Hulkamania persona from wrestling and ripped his shirt off to reveal a Trump-Vance shirt.

The WWE Hall of Famer has been focused on his Hogan’s Hangout restaurant in Clearwater, Florida, and the release of his new Real American Beer brand.

But he revealed during an interview with Fox News host Brian Kilmeade that Trump could have a place for him in his incoming administration.

“My President said, ‘You know something, you’d be great to run the President’s Council on Physical Fitness,’” Hogan recalled.

The conversation came during an October campaign rally at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

“At the end of the day, when I was in the back at Madison Square Garden after the whole rally, we were talking about Robert Kennedy, I was talking about nutrition, and how many foreign countries won’t even let their people eat the food that we eat here in America,” Hogan explained. “It’s so bad, and it’s poisoned a generation of kids. And at the end of the day, we start talking about physical fitness.”

Trump’s nominee to run the Department of Health and Human Services, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., has a Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) agenda.

Part of Kennedy’s agenda is focusing on the artificial ingredients and colors in food.

Hogan’s potential role in the Trump administration

The President’s Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition is an advisory panel that promotes healthy eating and physical activity.

Trump appointed The Incredible Hulk star Lou Ferrigno to serve as the chair during his first term.

Heisman Trophy winner Herschel Walker, former New York Yankees star Mariano Rivera, and Olympic Gold Medalist Misty May-Treanor served as co-chairs under Trump after Ferrigno.

President Joe Biden issued an executive order that extended the council through September 30, 2025.

Hogan told Fox News host Jesse Watters that Trump represents the “American Dream.”

He said that becoming a professional wrestler helped him live the American Dream.

“Well, I grew up in South Tampa, and from very humble beginnings,” Hogan explained. “I got into professional wrestling and made my way, and at the end of the day, this was the land of opportunity for me, because instead of once a month having a small little minute steak to eat, I told myself I never wanted to live like that. I wanted to make my way and make my life, and this country gave me that opportunity.”

“So, the American Dream is what this country is all about, and Donald Trump represents that, brother,” Hogan added.

Hulk Hogan could be the latest high-profile member to serve in the incoming Trump administration.
