Elon Musk becomes a Florida man during the Presidential transition
President-elect Donald Trump and his team are managing the transition from his Mar-a-Lago estate in West Palm Beach, Florida.
SpaceX CEO Elon Musk was tapped by Trump to lead the new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) with entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy.
Musk endorsed Trump and became one of his most outspoken supporters after the assassination attempt against the President-elect at a Pennsylvania campaign rally on July 13.
The New York Post reported that Musk is living at the $2,000 a night Banyan Cottage at Mar-a-Lago during the Presidential transition.
Banyan Cottage is within walking distance of the tennis courts, spa, and beach club at the estate.
The cottage is described as “ornately carved and hand-painted Moorish ceilings, spectacular ocean views from balconies and verandas with antique Spanish-tiled mosaics.”
He has become a regular at events with Trump since the election.
The SpaceX CEO has become one of the President-elect’s key advisors during the transition.
Trump reportedly accidentally posted a message for Musk on his Truth Social account.
“Where are you? When are you coming to the ‘Center of the Universe,’ Mar-a-Lago? Bill Gates asked to come, tonight. We miss you and x! New Year’s Eve is going to be AMAZING!!! DJT,” Trump wrote.
X is the nickname for Musk’s son X Æ A-12 which made some think the message was meant for the SpaceX CEO.
Musk’s temporary relocation to Mar-a-Lago is a sign his influence looms large over the transition process.
His main residence is in South Texas near the headquarters of SpaceX.

Some Florida real estate professionals believe that Musk could eventually get his own place in South Florida.
Troy Dean Home CEO Troy Ippolito told Fox News Digital that buying a home in South Florida would be a natural move for the tech mogul.
“Elon Musk is a disruptor,” Ippolito said. “When he does something… People stop and listen. They stop and take note. And you can’t have all these really, really smart people moving to South Florida for no reason whatsoever. The reasons are endless at this point. I can’t imagine him not having some type of residency here.”
Compass real estate agent Steve Hall has heard through the rumor mill that Musk could be looking to buy a place in Florida.
“I’m not surprised that he would want to, and with his role within the new administration, be close to that,” Hall stated.
“I’m, through the grapevine, just hearing chatter. It does appear that he’s more serious about buying a property here, buying something soon,” Hall added. “He was considering some homes right near Mar-a-Lago, just to the north, and also considering some of the West Palm Beach condominiums.”
