Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody went to war against FEMA for one despicable move

FEMA failed Florida after the state was struck by two hurricanes.

The embattled agency committed its worst offense yet.

And Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody went to war against FEMA for one despicable move.

Florida sues FEMA for discriminating against Trump supporters during relief efforts

The Daily Wire uncovered evidence that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) refused to help Trump supporters in the aftermath of Hurricane Milton.

FEMA supervisor Marn’i Washington told disaster relief workers in Lake Placid, Florida to “avoid homes advertising Trump” when they canvassed the town.

Lake Placid is in a county where President-elect Donald Trump won 70% of the vote.

A FEMA whistleblower said 20 homes were skipped over by disaster relief workers because there were signs of support for Trump.

Washington was fired by FEMA, but she insisted she was a scapegoat because this was an agency-wide policy.

Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody filed a lawsuit against Washington and FEMA administrator Deanne Criswell for damages accusing them of civil rights violations.

“Hurricane season is not over, and the federal agency responsible for emergency response is now accused of withholding aid from Florida storm victims based on political affiliation,” Moody said. “This lawsuit is a step toward accountability and ensuring that emergency assistance is provided fairly to all Americans, regardless of their political views.”

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis opened a state investigation into the incident.

“It’s egregious for the federal government to discriminate against Floridians who voted for Trump, particularly in the aftermath of a hurricane,” DeSantis said.

Confidence in the government is eroding under the Biden-Harris administration

Moody said that she had no faith in the Biden-Harris administration to fix the problems with FEMA during an appearance on Newsmax.

“We’re certainly not sitting back and waiting for the federal government to do its own investigation, because we’ve seen how that goes when federal agencies have told us one thing, a million times, and as we dig in, especially here in Florida,” Moody said. “We find out the exact opposite is happening.”

She accused President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris of destroying the public’s trust in government.

“We can rattle off the federal agencies where the public trust has just been decimated as a result of Biden and Harris and their policies,” Moody explained. “I mean, look at what we dealt with Secret Service, FBI, DHS [Department of Homeland Security]. I mean, how many times did [DHS Secretary Alejandro] Mayorkas tell us the border is secure, the border is secure, the border is secure?”

“Come to find out, we have millions and millions of people now in our country, and many of them are proven criminals. So, we’re not going to leave it up to the federal government to do their own investigation,” Moody added.

Slow responses by FEMA in other states in the southeast devastated by Hurricane Helene only add to the suspicions that the agency is giving Trump supporters the cold shoulder.

“This is what folks have been saying all along — that this administration wasn’t here to serve everyone, only a few,” Moody stated.
