U.S. News & World Report ranked Florida as the number-one state in several categories like education and the economy.
But one major organization has DeSantis’ Florida at its lowest possible rating.
And Florida just received one “F” rating that Ron DeSantis will wear as a badge of honor.
For years, Republicans refused to fight back or even speak out against the Left’s woke ideology and gender identity politics due to the blowback from the media.
But that all changed when Florida Governor Ron DeSantis showed Republicans how to both fight and win against the woke Left.
DeSantis signed legislation into law that banned Critical Race Theory, woke ideology, and Common Core from government school classrooms and textbooks.
He prohibited biological males from participating in women’s sports, restored parental rights in education, and passed universal school choice.
He ended Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs at universities and colleges in Florida and removed the woke Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) policies from state law.
DeSantis also banned children from attending drag shows in Florida.
And DeSantis is fighting in court to make it illegal to perform sex-change operations or give puberty blockers to minors in Florida.
DeSantis promised to make Florida be “where woke goes to die.”
And he followed through on it.
As a result, Florida is managing Joe Biden’s economic woes better than the rest of the country.
The population is growing, and the state economy is booming.
Crime is down and U.S. News & World Report ranked Florida as the top state for education and the economy.
But taking on the woke ideology and the radical LGBTQ+ agenda made him a top enemy of the Left.
And the national group Safe Home just gave DeSantis an “F” rating for his battle against the LGBTQ+ agenda.
“We are driven by a simple but powerful mission: to educate people and help them find the best products and services to protect themselves, their homes, and their families,” Safe Home’s mission statement reads. “We accomplish this by publishing home and personal safety research such as product recommendations, guides, tools, and other helpful resources.”
Safe Home just released its “2024 LGBTQ+ State Safety Report Cards.”
“The Safety Ranking is based on a composite safety score comprising a law score and a hate crime score,” Safe Home wrote on its website. “A ‘law score’ was calculated based on pro and anti-equality laws in each state.”
Safe Home ranked Florida as the “second-worst spot for LGBTQ+ safety” and gave the state a failing “F” grade.
“In the second-worst spot for LGBTQ+ safety comes Florida, which has one of the worst legal environments and ranked dead last in participation rates for law enforcement agency crime reporting,” Safe Home wrote. “Last year, Florida was the 15th worst state in our ranking, but newer and harsher legislation contributed to its plummeting safety score.”
Safe Home then incorrectly refers to the parental rights bill as the “Don’t Say Gay” law.
The parental rights bill did not even mention the word “gay” or “homosexual” once in the entire text.
It only prohibited teaching children in kindergarten through third grade about gender and sex.
“In recent years, Florida’s so-called Don’t Say Gay law has received significant media attention, with much scrutiny surrounding its attempts to prevent students and teachers from discussing sexual orientation and gender identity,” Safe Home wrote. “A settlement reached in early 2024 clarified some of the specifics around the law that was passed in 2022 and remains in place today.”
“Additional anti-equality legislation on Florida’s books includes sodomy laws and laws that allow or require intentional misgendering of public school students,” Safe Home wrote. “In 2023, Governor Ron DeSantis signed a bill into law that limited drag shows in the state, which a Florida federal judge later blocked.”
Ron DeSantis normally does not like to fail.
But receiving a failing grade from the woke Left is a badge of honor for the Governor.
