Florida police made one arrest that let the transgendered community know Ron DeSantis means business

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis turned Florida into a “law and order state.”

But Democrats believe they are above the law.

And Florida police made one arrest that let the transgendered community know Ron DeSantis means business.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis showed Republicans how to fight back and win against the Left’s woke ideology.

DeSantis vowed to make Florida be the state “where woke goes to die.”

He removed Marxist-based Critical Race Theory from government schools, banned biological males from participating in women’s sports, and made it illegal to perform sex-change operations or give hormones and puberty blockers to children.

DeSantis also banned all public universities from funding Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs.

One bill DeSantis signed into law makes it a misdemeanor offense if someone uses a bathroom or a locker room that does not align with their biological sex at birth.

Of course, woke leftists believe they are above the law.

But one 20-year-old transgender man from Illinois recently found out the hard way that Ron DeSantis means business when it comes to law and order.

“In what could be one of the first arrests under a bathroom bill lawmakers passed in 2023, Florida police earlier this month jailed a transgender woman who washed her hands in a women’s restroom at the Capitol,” the Miami Herald reported. “Marcy Rheintgen, a 20-year-old Illinois resident, was arrested by Capitol police March 19 on a trespassing charge after she alerted state officials that she planned to use the bathroom in protest of the law.”

In early March, Rheintgen sent a letter to lawmakers in Florida informing them that he planned to use a specific women’s bathroom in the Capitol.

He even included a photo of himself for identification.

“I know that you know in your heart that this law is wrong and unjust,” Rheintgen said in her letter. “I know that you know in your heart that transgender people are human too, and you can’t arrest us away,” he continued. “I know that you know that I have dignity.”

“That’s why I know that you won’t arrest me,” he added.

But Rheintgen quickly learned that he is not above the law in Florida like transgenders are in Illinois.

Police arrested Rheintgen and charged him with a second-degree misdemeanor punishable by up to 60 days in jail.

Rheintgen admitted that he was shocked over the arrest.

“Everything that is politics seems very abstract and philosophical from far away,” Rheintgen said. “This is the first time it’s really affected me,” he continued. “I got arrested and I got sent to jail because of Governor (Ron) DeSantis’ policies — like that’s crazy, that’s crazy!”

It is really not crazy.

Florida law requires individuals to use the bathroom of the sex assigned to them at birth.

Rheintgen intentionally broke the law.

And in Florida, breaking the law has consequences, even for the protected LGBTQ+ class.
