The Biden-Harris administration is playing fast and loose with the rules ahead of an election.
Government officials want to put Kamala Harris in the White House by hook or by crook.
And Florida went to war against the Biden-Harris administration for this scary 2024 decision.
Florida files a lawsuit against Homeland Security over purging illegal aliens from voter rolls
The Biden-Harris administration has allowed more than 11 million illegal aliens, more than the population of North Carolina, into the United States since January 2021.
Concerns have grown about the potential for illegal aliens to vote since 46 states provide voter registration without asking for proof of citizenship.
Republican states have tried to clean up their voter rolls to remove illegal aliens from them, but they need records from the Department of Homeland Security to be able to accurately crosscheck immigration status.
The Biden-Harris administration has been fighting states tooth and nail who try to remove illegal aliens from their voter rolls.
Florida is suing Homeland Security, arguing the department has a duty to give information to state and local governments about immigration status.
“Because the federal government is refusing to comply with these obligations and frustrating Florida’s ability to maintain the integrity of its elections, Florida files this suit,” Florida’s lawsuit states.
Florida noted that it has an obligation to maintain accurate voter rolls.
The Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) program from Homeland Security allows for the verification of immigration status.
Florida argued that it had identified registered voters that it thought could be noncitizens but could not access the SAVE program to verify their status.
The lawsuit said that Florida and Homeland Security had an agreement about the state using the SAVE program.
“Thus, Florida has identified a subset of individuals for whom it cannot verify citizenship or immigration status through SAVE and for whom DHS refuses to verify citizenship or immigration status through other means,” Florida’s lawsuit read.
States battle the Biden-Harris administration to clean up voter rolls
The lawsuit asks that Homeland Security be made to comply with Florida’s request to use the SAVE program.
Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody argued the Biden-Harris border crisis required the state to maintain the integrity of its voter rolls.
“Voting is a right granted to American citizens — not illegal immigrants or other noncitizens,” Moody said. “The Biden-Harris administration has allowed millions of illegal immigrants into the country, and we must ensure that only citizens are on our voter rolls.”
“I am taking legal action against the Department of Homeland Security and Secretary Mayorkas to ensure Florida is able to maintain the integrity of our state’s voter rolls,” Moody added.
The Biden-Harris administration sued Alabama over moving 3,000 names from its voter rolls that the state found who are noncitizens.
Virginia was also sued to stop the removal of noncitizens, which the state’s Governor Glenn Youngkin called “politically motivated.”
Homeland Security defended the stonewalling by noting that noncitizens voting in federal elections is illegal.
Illegal aliens coming into the country is also against the law but that does not stop it from happening.
The Biden-Harris administration is raising eyebrows for its willingness to go the mattresses over keeping states from checking the immigration status of voters.
