Former MLB pitcher John Rocker just made New York City residents regret ignoring this warning 25 years ago

Former MLB closer John Rocker played baseball long before the woke Left took over professional sports.

But Rocker still created a stir with his politically incorrect statements.

And former MLB pitcher John Rocker just made New York City residents regret ignoring this warning 25 years ago.

John Rocker made his major league debut in 1998 with the Atlanta Braves where he remained through parts of four seasons before being traded to the Cleveland Indians.

During his six seasons in Major League Baseball, Rocker played for the Braves, Indians, Rangers, and Tampa Bay Devil Rays.

His professional career ended in 2005, but his controversial statements are truer now than ever before.

In December of 1999, Sports Illustrated published a story where Rocker made a number of controversial statements about his experience in New York City.

Rocker was asked if he would rather play for the Yankees or the Mets.

“I’d retire first,” Rocker said at the time. “It’s the most hectic, nerve-wracking city.”

He specifically mentioned the Subway System and the dangerous people on it.

“Imagine having to take the 7 Train to the ballpark looking like you’re riding through Beirut next to some kid with purple hair, next to some queer with AIDS, right next to some dude who just got out of jail for the fourth time, right next to some 20-year-old mom with four kids,” Rocker said. “It’s depressing.”

Rocker admitted he did not like all the foreigners in New York City who could not speak English.

“How the hell did they get in this country?” he asked.

Rocker’s statements in 1999 almost cost him his professional baseball career.

But fast forward to 2024, and John Rocker has reemerged on the social media platform X.

“I’m back mother f******,” he wrote in a post announcing his return.

“At least two high-profile subway crimes rocked the outer boroughs just days after Gov. Kathy Hochul added hundreds more National Guard members to the train system — leaving New Yorkers skeptical of their safety both above and below ground,” PoliticsNY reported.

Rocker chimed in on the crime surge on the New York City Subway System.

He shared a video montage of an old interview with clips of his controversial statements.

“An illegal burned someone to death on the New York City subway today,” he wrote. “I tried telling you all 25 years ago and got canceled for it.”

“WE NEED MASS DEPORTATIONS IMMEDIATELY,” he added.

In another post, he thanked Elon Musk for allowing him on the platform.

“THE MEDIA CANCELLED ME 25 YEARS AGO,” he wrote. “𝕏 HAS GIVEN ME MY VOICE BACK,” he continued, before adding “THANK YOU Elon Musk.”

John Rocker was smeared and attacked as a racist for his immigration comments back in the 1990s.

But Rocker was ahead of his time. And today his words ring truer than ever.
