James Comer put FEMA on notice for this sick decision about Trump supporters

Nov 15, 2024

FEMA found itself in another scandal over its response to the hurricanes.

The embattled agency sunk to a new low after one terrible secret was exposed.

And James Comer put FEMA on notice for this sick decision about Trump supporters.

FEMA official admits to not helping Trump supporters in Florida

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is under fire for its terrible response to Hurricanes Helene and Milton.

A report from the Daily Wire exposed that not only is FEMA incompetent but the agency was denying disaster relief to Trump supporters in Florida.

FEMA supervisor Marn’i Washington told workers to “avoid homes” in the hurricane-battered town of Lake Placid, Florida that had Trump flags or signs in October.

She gave this message to workers in a Microsoft Teams chat and verbally as they canvased homes to see if they qualified for disaster relief.

At least 20 homes with Trump flags or signs were skipped over in the town during weeks of canvassing by FEMA workers.

Photos of the computer program that FEMA employees used when they went door to door revealed disturbing messages concerning homes showing support for Trump.

Entries that said, “Trump sign no entry per leadership,” “Per leadership no stop Trump flag,” “Trump sign,” and “Trump sign, no contact per leadership” were recorded in the system.

Trump carried Highlands County where Lake Placid is located with 70% of the vote in the 2024 Election.

Washington was reportedly let go by FEMA.

A spokesman for the agency told Fox News that it was an “isolated incident.”

James Comer opens an investigation into FEMA

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) sent a letter to FEMA Director Deanne Criswell asking her to testify about her agency’s response to Hurricanes Helene and Milton.

“In the wake of the recent major disasters that impacted Americans of all political persuasions, it is critical that FEMA adheres to its disaster relief mission,” Comer wrote.

Comer said her testimony would “permit members to investigate recent reports that a FEMA official instructed relief workers to bypass hurricane-impacted homes displaying campaign signs for President Trump.”

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced his state was launching an investigation into FEMA’s response in Lake Placid after the bombshell revelation.

“The blatant weaponization of government by partisan activists in the federal bureaucracy is yet another reason why the Biden-Harris administration is in its final days,” DeSantis said. “At my direction, the Division of Emergency Management is launching an investigation into the federal government’s targeted discrimination of Floridians who support Donald Trump.”

“New leadership is on the way to D.C., and I’m optimistic that these partisan bureaucrats will be fired,” DeSantis added.

The disturbing news about Florida could be the tip of the iceberg of the politicization of FEMA’s response.

Residents in heavily Republican areas of the swing state of North Carolina reported that the agency was slow to respond to devastating flooding in the western part of the state caused by Hurricane Helene.

The Biden-Harris administration confirmed that nothing was off limits with is weaponization of the federal government against American citizens.
