Matt Gaetz was a conservative firebrand when served in Congress.
He is moving on to his next project.
And Matt Gaetz made one major decision about his future that no one saw coming.
Matt Gaetz is headed to TV after leaving Congress
Former Representative Matt Gaetz (R-FL) faced an avalanche of lies and hoaxes from the media after President-elect Donald Trump nominated him to be his Attorney General.
The Washington, D.C. Swamp feared him going into the Justice Department and cleaning house.
Gaetz decided to withdraw his nomination because he did not want to be a distraction for Trump.
“It is clear that my confirmation was unfairly becoming a distraction to the critical work of the Trump/Vance Transition,” Gaetz wrote on X. “There is no time to waste on a needlessly protracted Washington scuffle, thus I’ll be withdrawing my name from consideration to serve as Attorney General.”
He resigned from Congress after he was nominated to be Attorney General and later announced that he would not serve next year either.
The conservative firebrand was out of elected office and searching for what to do next.
Gaetz is heading to TV to host a 9:00 pm show on the One America News Network (OAN) in January.
The Matt Gaetz Show will be an hour-long program that airs every weeknight on the network.
“With Gaetz rounding out OAN’s prime-time lineup, the network is poised for a groundbreaking 2025, reaffirming its mission to deliver credible, independent news and unfiltered commentary to audiences across the nation,” OAN said in a statement. “Matt Gaetz has earned a reputation as a relentless champion of conservative values, taking on entrenched Washington bureaucrats and exposing government overreach.”

Gaetz is excited to try his hand at TV
Gaetz brings some experience to TV after serving as a guest host on Newsmax.
He celebrated his move to the media after spending eight years in Congress.
“OAN is blazing a trail in media, embracing not just traditional news but the platforms where Americans are going, streaming, apps, podcasts, and social media,” Gaetz said. “I couldn’t be more thrilled to join OAN’s forward-thinking team and be part of this revolutionary expansion.”
Gaetz will also host a new podcast with OAN host Dan Ball that is aimed at younger audiences.
OAN president Charles Herring said that Gaetz will bring an “unparalleled insight” for viewers.
“Matt is a remarkable talent and a principled leader. His insider access to America’s top policymakers and unwavering dedication to America-first values will bring unparalleled insight and exclusive content to OAN viewers. We’re thrilled to welcome him to the OAN family,” Herring said.
Gaetz can offer a unique insight as a former Congressman on Trump’s return to Washington, D.C. next year.
But elected office might still be in the cards for his future.
Gaetz posted a picture of the state flag of Florida waving on social media when former Florida State Representative Anthony Sabatini (R-FL) suggested he should run for Governor in the 2026 midterm elections.
