Melania Trump slams the media for its dangerous rhetoric against her husband
Former First Lady Melania Trump has stayed out of the spotlight during her husband’s latest campaign for the White House.
She has had a lower profile after she cared for her sick mother who eventually passed away in January.
Melania spoke out about the assassination attempts against former President Donald Trump during an interview with Fox & Friends co-host Ainsley Earhardt.
The former First Lady gave her first interview more than two years ahead of the release of her new memoir Melania.
Melania recalled being at Mar-a-Lago during the first assassination attempt on July 13 at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania when she heard that her husband was shot.
She had to break the difficult news to the couple’s son, Barron Trump, who was playing tennis outside at the time.
Melania slammed Democrats and their allies in the media for creating a “toxic atmosphere” against her husband.
“I had a lot of questions. What’s going on? This is not normal,” Melania said. “And is it really shocking that all this egregious violence goes against my husband.”
“Especially that we hear the leaders from the opposition party and mainstream media branding him as a ‘threat to democracy,’ calling him vile names. They [are] only fueling a toxic atmosphere and giving power [to] all of these people that want to do harm to him,” Melania continued. “This needs to stop. This needs to stop. The country needs to unite.”
She urged the country to read the letter she wrote about the first assassination attempt against her husband the day after it happened which called for putting aside political differences to treat the former President as a human.
CNN host angry that Melania Trump called out the media
The media has spent the last nine years using overheated rhetoric against Donald Trump.
President Joe Biden made calling Trump a threat to democracy and his supporters enemies of the state the centerpiece of his campaign before he dropped out.
CNN host Christiane Amanpour lashed out at Melania Trump on social media for daring to blame the media for the political violence against her husband.
“Mrs. Trump is mistaken, political violence is not the fault of the ‘mainstream media’, and I wish she would take back this false and dangerous accusation,” Amanpour wrote on X.
Amanpour claims that the media’s charged rhetoric has nothing to do with political violence.
But the second assassination attempt against Trump at his Florida golf club was by a gunman who repeated talking points often espoused on CNN.
Ryan Routh, 58 years old, made 19 donations exclusively to Democrats since 2019 and is a supporter of Kamala.
He parroted the big lie pushed by the media and Democrats that “democracy is on the ballot” in this election.
The media has become an apparatus of the Democrat Party with the dangerous smear campaign they have run against Donald Trump this election.
