Pam Bondi is racking up wins at an impressive rate.
Things have changed in Washington, D.C. under her.
And Pam Bondi revealed one daring mission the Coast Guard pulled off in scary conditions.
Coast Guard seizes $2 billion worth of cocaine under Donald Trump
President Donald Trump is sealing the southern border shut to curb the flow of illegal aliens and deadly drugs into the country.
Illegal border crossings have fallen by 94% and fentanyl seizures have dropped by 50% at the southern border under him, a sign that attempts to smuggle the lethal drug are declining.
The Coast Guard is making sure that drug traffickers and human smugglers do not shift their routes to the ocean with the border being sealed.
Attorney General Pam Bondi praised the crew of the Coast Guard cutter Stone for returning with more than 22 tons worth of cocaine with a street value of $2 billion in Port Everglades, Florida.
The Stone is a 418-foot Legend-class cutter and the biggest ship in the Coast Guard’s fleet.
Since her tenure began, Bondi said that Coast Guard vessels had made 14 interdictions of ships carrying drugs in international waters.
Those interdictions led to 35 suspected drug traffickers with ties to the Mexican cartels being arrested.
“What they did saved countless American lives,” Bondi said about the Coast Guard. “This cocaine would have been distributed throughout our country and perhaps throughout our world.”
The interdictions were part of the Justice Department’s Operation Take Back America to target the cartels.
Bondi said that the drugs seized were being smuggled by the Jalisco New Generation and Sinaloa Cartels.
Trump designated both cartels as foreign terrorist organizations.
“This is a textbook example of the Justice Department supporting the fight against violent crime,” Bondi explained. “We believe two cartels, [Jalisco New Generation] and Sinaloa, were heavily tied to these shipments.”
Mexican cartels dealt a major setback
Bondi argued that the interdictions were a major blow to the cartels.
“This is a major blow to their financial operations and their efforts to distribute drugs throughout our country. It’s an example of a prosecutor-led, intelligent, driven approach to stopping these criminal enterprises in their tracks,” Bondi stated.
FBI director Kash Patel said the Coast Guard’s work sent a message to the cartels about the high seas.
“They are no longer going to be free to roam,” Patel said. “We are going to dismantle the next-man-up theory that has been breeding in these Mexican cartels for generations. There is no lethal force on planet Earth that is responsible for an overdose death of an American citizen every seven minutes, more so than these federal terrorist organizations, foreign terrorist organizations.”
U.S. Senator Ashley Moody (R-FL) praised the busts for stopping the number one threat to Florida.
“This was a great day for America, bad day for the cartels. It is great to see our strong law enforcement leaders, Pam Bondi and Kash Patel. So proud to support them as a new U.S. senator into their roles, going down and taking the time and showing that we are going to take this drug crisis seriously. This is the number one crisis facing America right now,” Moody told Fox & Friends First. “Absolutely not a doubt they are saving lives.”
The Trump administration is making sure the oceans as well as the southern border are off limits for the cartels.
