Police could not believe what bystanders reported this naked Florida man did with a machete

Police officers in Florida have seen it all.

It takes a lot to leave a Florida cop in a state of shock.

But police could not believe what bystanders reported this naked Florida man did with a machete.

Machetes have been around since the Stone Age and remain a part of daily life in much of the world.

They come in a variety of shapes and sizes.

But the blade is typically 12 to 18 inches and under 1/8th inch thick.

Machetes are extremely versatile and can be used as a knife and an ax.

In the United States, machetes are mostly used by hunters to clear walking paths through brushy areas.

But a naked Florida man recently used a machete to commit a heinous crime.

Around 4 a.m. on Monday, police in Miami Gardens received a 911 call about a violent assault that had just occurred.

When police arrived on the scene, they discovered a man with blood gushing out of his head and a severed hand.

They also found a bloody machete laying on the ground.

Fortunately, there were witnesses who were able to help police find the suspect.

The witnesses informed the officers that they saw a naked man fleeing the scene following the attack.

“Police say that around the time of the attack, witnesses saw Rhyant running away from the bloody scene while completely naked,” HonkNews reported. “The victim told police about Tyrone Arthur Rhyant, 54, who they found relaxing on a sofa not far away.”

The police went to the home where the witnesses saw the attacker flee,  and found 54-year-old Tyrone Arthur Rhyant lounging on the couch.

But Rhyant did not try to flee this time.

Instead, he asked the officers a question about the victim.

“Is he dead?” he asked the cops.

He then admitted that “I tried to kill him.”

The police report did not give a motive for the crime.

But it did note that his ex-wife lives nearby and has a protection order against him.

The victim was transported to the local hospital for treatment.

Rhyant was transported to the county jail where he was charged with attempted murder, reckless endangerment, and domestic violence/violation of an order.
