Liberals continue to stand on their soapbox and demand every American business adopt DEI standards to make things “fair”.
Except the Left thinks the rules do not apply to them.
And now heads are spinning after a radical DEI employee turned on her own people to commit an unthinkable crime.
The DEI obsession
The Left loves to force their radical Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) policies onto the masses.
Universities had entire departments dedicated to ramming through racist DEI policies until conservative leaders like Ron DeSantis shut them down.
“In Florida, we are not going to back down to the woke mob, and we will expose the scams they are trying to push onto students across the country,” Governor Ron DeSantis said in a press release.
The truth is DEI policies don’t make things “equal”, they actually discriminate against most Americans by “increasing” the representation of minorities solely based on things such as race instead of merit.
But liberals insist DEI is the only way to make things “fair”.
While conservative politicians continue to defund DEI programs, other leftist businesses like Nike and Facebook promote DEI policies.
But now, these liberal companies received the shock of their lives when one of their own turned on them, and stole millions.
A crooked DEI employee was busted
Barbara Furlow-Smiles, a 38-year-old, was a former DEI manager for both Facebook and Nike.
Both Facebook and Nike are open about their leftist viewpoints, so it’s not a surprise they fund DEI employees.
Except they never expected one of their own would steal from them.
In a shocking press release, the United States Attorney’s Office revealed Furlow-Smiles stole a whopping $5 million from both companies with her wicked schemes.
“Furlow-Smiles shamelessly violated her position of trust as a DEI executive at Facebook to steal millions from the company utilizing a scheme involving fraudulent vendors, fake invoices, and cash kickbacks,” said U.S. Attorney Ryan K. Buchanan in a press release.
“After being terminated from Facebook, she brazenly continued the fraud as a DEI leader at Nike, where she stole another six-figure sum from their diversity program,” Buchanan continued.
Do as I say – not as I do
Furlow-Smiles is yet another example of a liberal who claims to be working to help the “oppressed”, yet is as crooked as they come.
The Left continues to paint the false picture that liberals are the only ones helping the “working class”, and act as if conservatives only care about helping the “rich.”
But Furlow-Smiles schemed two companies out of $5 million and even had her friends and family helping her.
It’s another classic example of “do as I say, not as I do”.
Perhaps if the Left was focused on vetting their employees and monitoring their actions instead of being obsessed with “diversity”, this entire scheme could have been avoided.
