Ron DeSantis slams Tim Walz for his failures as Minnesota Governor
The reactions are pouring after Vice President Kamala Harris made this surprising pick of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz to be her running mate.
Walz is best known for presiding over the destruction of Minneapolis at the hands Black Lives Matter riots in 2020.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis stood up for law and order in his state in 2020 and kept the peace.
He trashed Walz at a press conference for his dismal record leading Minnesota as Governor.
“We all remember the [Black Lives Matter] riots of 2020 in Minneapolis,” DeSantis said. “Those were riots that Harris egged on and raised money to bail out the rioters with the Minnesota bail fund.”
Harris asked her supporters to donate to the Minnesota Freedom Fund (MFF) on social media to bail out rioters. The fund raised a staggering $41 million in 2020.
The fund was also used to free violent criminals, some of whom went out to commit rape and murder. Court records show the MFF was used to bail out Shawn Michael Tillman, from St. Paul, who was later sentenced to life in prison for first-and-second degree murder.
“And they were riots that Tim Waltz, as governor, sat back and let happen,” DeSantis continued. “He sat back and let the city of Minneapolis burn. That city has been gutted as a result of those riots.”
Walz waited for days before he called in the National Guard while Minneapolis was being decimated.
The riots caused more than $55 million worth of damage to the city.
“We would never allow that to happen in the state of Florida,” DeSantis explained. “So, this is a ticket that really represents the spirit of those 2020 BLM riots.”
Tim Walz sent residents fleeing to Florida
DeSantis warned that the Harris-Walz ticket would take a wrecking ball to America if they were elected.
“And you have a very vapid San Francisco Democrat, and then you’ve got an Ilhan Omar-style leftist, Tim Walz, who has the same policies as his fellow Minnesotan, Ilhan Omar,” DeSantis explained. “We do not need an America that represents the failed policies of San Francisco or the failed policies of Minneapolis.”
The Florida Governor noted that his state attracted new residents fleeing Minnesota and San Francisco.
“And I can just tell you, as governor of Florida, particularly in that 2020–2021 period, people fled those jurisdictions,” DeSantis stated. “And they’d come to Florida, and they would tell me about the mismanagement, and about letting the inmates run the asylum and how that just destroyed the quality of life.”
Minnesota lost more residents to Florida than any other state in the country in 2021-22.
“And so, I think it was in that period, you were five times more likely to move from Minnesota to Florida than vice versa, and that’s a result of people fleeing those failed policies,” DeSantis added.
San Francisco and Minneapolis are the blueprints for the rest of the country that the Harris-Walz ticket has planned.
