The battle lines are set.
Donald Trump and Kamala Harris are headed for a November showdown in what many are calling the most important election in decades.
But Ron DeSantis just gave Congressional Republicans a brutal reality check about their role in helping Democrats destroy America.
The left-wing media is swooning over Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democrat Party’s nominee to take on Donald Trump in November.
They are trying to sell Kamala Harris as the greatest Democrat to come along since Barack Obama.
But Harris is nothing like Barack Obama.
Obama was wildly popular with Americans and finished his first term with an average approval rating of 49%.
For comparison, Joe Biden’s approval rating is at a dismal 38%.
But Kamala Harris is just as unpopular as Joe Biden.
A recent IPSOS/Reuters poll found her approval rating only one point higher than Biden’s at 39%.
During an interview with Newsmax’s Bianca de la Garza, Ron DeSantis gave the media a reality check on Kamala Harris.
“I mean, they’re taking a San Francisco Democrat who has no accomplishments,” he said. “She’s as vapid as a politician.”
DeSantis said the media would try “to turn her into a cultural phenomenon,” but he believes it will not work because “the American people are too smart for this.”
He described Harris as “the most left-wing nominee” in the history of America.
DeSantis addressed the recent attempt by Democrats and the media to label J.D. Vance as “weird.”
Democrats “want the election to be about something that the VP candidate said five years ago or something that happened 10 years ago,” he said, before adding that “if we’re arguing on that, then the Democrats are in a better spot.”
But DeSantis expressed one valid concern about what will happen if Republicans win the White House and control Congress next January.
His concerns are well-founded.
DeSantis said he has “watched the Republicans have the House now since 2022,” yet “they’ve got really nothing to show for it.”
“I remember the first two years we had a Republican Congress when Trump was president,” DeSantis said. “They really failed to deliver in a big way.”
The Governor then threw down the gauntlet on Congressional Republicans, telling them “So now I think it’s time to put up or shut up!”
DeSantis pointed out that Republicans in Florida have “shown that it can be done.”
“We believe in getting things done,” he said in reference to Florida. “But ultimately, you do that by not worrying about elections two or four years-plus in advance,” he continued. “You worry about what you can do right now to actually deliver big results.”
“And so, my hope is that we’re successful in 2024 and Republicans actually capitalize on the opportunity,” he concluded.
DeSantis is right.
