Pentagon wants troops to eat fake meat grown in a lab to fight climate change
President Joe Biden has made enacting as many of his Green New Deal policies as possible the top priority for his administration.
His battle against climate change has reached every part of the federal government.
The Biden administration has mused about soldiers going into combat in electric tanks to cut greenhouse gas emissions.
Now the Department of Defense is using the troops as guinea pigs as part of Biden’s extreme environmental agenda.
BioMADE, a public-private company funded by the Defense Department, announced that it is offering grants to companies to create lab-grown meat to “reduce the CO2 footprint of food production” for the military.
“Innovations in food production that reduce the CO2 footprint of food production at and/or transport to DoD operational environments are solicited,” BioMADE said in a statement. “These could include, but are not limited to, production of nutrient-dense military rations via fermentation processes, utilizing one carbon molecule (C1) feedstocks for food production, and novel cell culture methods suitable for the production of cultivated meat/protein.”
Lab-grown meat is a Frankenfood that produces fake meat grown in a test tube using the cells of animals.
It creates a product that is designed to mimic real meat.
Radical environmental activists blame livestock and eating meat as a major source of greenhouse gases.
Creating fake meat in a lab is sold as a way of reducing emissions.
The Biden administration gave two companies the green light to begin developing it to bring to market.
It is not sold anywhere yet but if it gets off the ground, the Left will try to ban real meat and use it as a replacement.
Biden’s Defense Department is more interested in politics than national security
The priority for the Biden administration is always its Green New Deal agenda over everything else.
Center for the Environment and Welfare executive director Jack Hubbard slammed the move for treating the military as an experiment.
“Taxpayer dollars should not be used to fund the lab-grown meat sector,” Hubbard said. “Our troops deserve better than to be served lab-grown meat, produced in bioreactors with immortalized cells and chemicals.”
“Unfortunately,” Hubbard continued. “This effort is being driven by an agenda that is political and anti-farmer. Our soldiers should never be used as guinea pigs.”
Hubbard’s group compared lab-grown to growing cancer cells for humans to eat.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed the first bill in the nation to outlaw the sale and distribution of lab-grown meat in his state.
“You need meat, OK. And we’re going to have meat in Florida.” DeSantis said in February. “We’re not going to have fake meat. Like that doesn’t work.”
Lab-grown meat is the latest scam by the Green New Dealers to make everyone’s life more miserable to fight climate change.
