Ron DeSantis put conservatives on red alert with this dire warning about 2024

Ron DeSantis has never been this worried before.

One of the toughest battles of his political career is this fall.

And Ron DeSantis put conservatives on red alert with this dire warning about 2024.

Ron DeSantis warns the pro-life movement in Florida is on the line

A battle is underway in Florida for the future of the pro-life movement in the state.

Pro-abortion activists placed Amendment 4 on the ballot this election which would enshrine abortion on demand into the Florida Constitution.

Globalist billionaire George Soros and Planned Parenthood are among the out-of-state groups pouring millions into groups supporting it.

Amendment 4 relies on deceptive and poll-tested language to make it appear to voters to be less extreme than it is.

Constitutional amendments need 60% of the vote to pass in Florida which is a higher bar than most states.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has been leading the charge to fight back against Amendment 4 warning that it would bring California-style abortion laws to the Sunshine State.

He laid out the stakes for the abortion battle on the ballot this November at Jesuit High School in Tampa.

“If you care about building a culture of life in this state or this country, them winning in Florida I think really represents the end of the pro-life movement,” DeSantis said.

The passage of Amendment 4 would wipe out every pro-life law on the books in Florida.

DeSantis signed a heartbeat bill into law last year that banned most abortions after six weeks.

That and the state’s law requiring parental consent for minors to receive abortion would be wiped out if the amendment passes.

A tough battle lies ahead in stopping abortion on demand

DeSantis explained that the pro-lifers need to grow their numbers to beat Amendment 4.

“If you look at the state of Florida, we do not have a pro-life majority,” DeSantis said. “We’ve got a big chunk, but we don’t have a majority. If only people that are pro-life oppose it, it very well might pass.”

He said that opponents need to get voters who think the amendment is too extreme.

DeSantis launched the Florida Freedom Fund led by his chief of staff James Uthmeier to oppose Amendment 4 and other issues on the ballot this election.

Pro-abortion forces have raised more than $40 million to put it in the state constitution, far more than the pro-life side.

The Florida Governor said the legally required fiscal impact statement for Amendment 4 could sway some voters.

The fiscal impact report notes that Florida could be subject to paying for lawsuits with taxpayer money over questions about whether the amendment would require Medicaid to pay for abortions and uncertainties around it.

Two recent polls found that it was falling just short of the 60% threshold that it needed to pass.

A USA Today poll found that Amendment 4 had the support of 58% of voters while Florida Atlantic University found it had 56% of Floridians supporting it.

Pro-lifers in Florida have a tough fight to keep an extreme abortion on demand law out of the state Constitution.
