Ron DeSantis revealed one message Rush Limbaugh gave him that put jaws on the floor

The late, great Rush Limbaugh was one of the sharpest conservative thinkers.

He confided something in Ron DeSantis when the pair met.

And Ron DeSantis revealed one message Rush Limbaugh gave him that put jaws on the floor.

Ron DeSantis reveals what Rush Limbaugh told him about his wife

Florida First Lady Casey DeSantis has been flirting with the idea of running for Governor next to replace her husband, who is term-limited.

She and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis attended the National Review’s Idea Summit in National Harbor, Maryland.

DeSantis revealed that his wife would be a conservative firebrand as a politician.

“She would be as conservative or more conservative than me,” DeSantis said.

National Review political correspondent Jim Geraghty asked her if she was considering running for Governor.

Casey DeSantis used the question to heap praise on her husband.

“This guy’s the GOAT [Greatest of All Time],” Casey said. “I’ve been around politics, and I’ve seen a lot of people — not a lot of people have a backbone like him.”

She warned that the gains made in Florida under her husband could not be taken for granted.

“I have to just applaud him because all of what he has done is extremely fragile, right?” Casey said. “You could get somebody in and all of this revert back.”

“It’s the long-winded answer of saying, you know, we’ll see,” Casey added.

Ron and Casey DeSantis had dinner with the late Rush Limbaugh, a resident of Florida.

He revealed that Rush told him that his wife “should be governor” after seeing her speak at an event in 2019.

“She was just raging against the machine, and [Limbaugh] turned to me at the end and he’s like, ‘She should be governor after that!'” DeSantis recalled.

Casey DeSantis has a tough decision to make

Representative Byron Donalds (R-FL) is the only major candidate who has declared for the Florida Governor’s race next year.

He has the endorsement of President Donald Trump.

A University of North Florida Public Opinion Research Lab poll found that Casey DeSantis had a 57% favorability rating with Republican voters in the state.

That mark was higher than Donalds, who is still unknown by most voters in Florida.

A source close to the Florida First Lady told the New York Post in February that she was very seriously considering the possibility of running.

“She’s as ambitious as he is,” the source claimed. “They’ve always seen themselves as a new emerging political power couple. She is considering a run and is talking to a lot of different people about the possibilities. She wants it very much.”

RINO Florida Agriculture Commissioner Wilton Simpson is also rumored to be another potential candidate.

Casey DeSantis has developed what could be her stump speech on the campaign trail.

Too many politicians fail to deliver on their campaign promises.

“They get into office; they want to do good things; they don’t want to get criticized; they like cocktail parties, you know, they think about what’s next on the next political rung in their career,” Casey stated. “The Founders never thought that politics should ever have been a career, right?”

Casey DeSantis could make the Republican Primary in August 2026 a heavyweight showdown if she enters the race.
