Biden’s Surgeon General launches gun control scheme
President Joe Biden is running the most anti-gun administration in American history.
But his most ambitious gun control plans have run into a roadblock in Congress and the Supreme Court.
Now his war against the Second Amendment is being done under the guise of public health.
U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy issued an advisory on gun violence that declared it a public health crisis.
This marked the first time in history that a public health advisory on gun violence was issued by a Surgeon General, a long-held goal of gun grabbers.
“Over the last decade or two, this problem has been worsening and we have now reached the point where gun violence is the leading cause of death among kids and teens – the leading cause of death. That is something that we should never take as the new normal. There’s nothing normal about that,” Murthy told CNN’s John Berman.
Calling guns the lead cause of death for kids is a lie designed to be an emotional appeal for gun control.
That definition of kid includes 18 and 19-year-olds which jukes the stats from gangbangers being killed.
Murthy said he wanted to turn gun control into a public health issue instead of a political one.
He explained that he wanted to treat guns the same way the public health industry treated tobacco in the 1960s.
The goal is to try to turn guns into a social stigma like smoking.
His solution to gun violence was Congress passing every major item on the gun grabbers’ wish list.
Murthy wanted an assault weapons ban, red flag gun confiscation, magazine capacity limits, and universal background checks.
Ron DeSantis fires back at gun grab
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis spent the pandemic battling out-of-control public health officials.
He took aim at Murthy’s unconstitutional scheme on social media.
“During COVID, unelected bureaucrats used ‘public health’ as a pretext to deprive citizens of their rights– and I signed legislation to protect Floridians from government overreach,” DeSantis said. “Now, Biden’s Surgeon General is attempting to violate the Second Amendment through the ‘public health’ bureaucracy.”
“We will not comply,” DeSantis continued. “Florida will always reject the Biden Administration’s unconstitutional power-grabs.”
Other conservatives and pro-gun groups joined in by slamming the Surgeon General’s abuse of power.
“U.S. Surgeon General Vivek Murthy’s declaration that ‘gun violence’ is a ‘public health crisis’ is nothing short of election-year politicking masquerading in a white lab coat,” the National Shooting Sports Foundation said in a press release.
“Today, Surgeon Murthy abused his power in an attempt to target the Second Amendment,” Representative Richard Hudson (R-NC.) wrote on X. “This is yet another attack on YOUR constitutional right to bear arms by the Biden admin, and we WILL NOT allow it.”
The Biden administration is launching a futile effort at gun control in an election year in a move designed to mobilize the Democrat base.
