Ron DeSantis threw down the gauntlet with these four words about Joe Biden’s public health gun control scheme

Joe Biden and the Democrats are hell-bent on banning firearms.

Surgeon General Vivek Murthy just opened the door for Joe Biden to ban guns under the guise of public health.

But Ron DeSantis threw down the gauntlet with these four words about Joe Biden’s public health gun control scheme.

Joe Biden has been waging a war on gun owners since his first day in office.

In 2022, Democrats rammed through the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act of 2022 following the tragedy in Uvalde, Texas.

According to the Associated Press, this was “the most sweeping federal gun legislation since a ban on certain semi-automatic weapons was signed in 1994.”

Biden is pressuring Congress to pass another ban on semi-automatic rifles like the AR-15.

“I call on Congress again to pass my assault weapon ban,” he said recently. “It’s about time we begin to make some progress, but there’s more to learn.”

Since Democrats do not have the numbers to ram a gun ban through Congress, Joe Biden turned to his Surgeon General for help.

On Tuesday, Surgeon General Vivek Murthy declared gun violence a public health emergency and called on lawmakers to take action by passing gun control.

“Today, for the first time in the history of our office, I am issuing a Surgeon General’s Advisory on firearm violence,” Murthy said in a video announcement. “It outlines the urgent threat firearm violence poses to the health and well-being of our country.”

“As a doctor, I’ve seen the consequences of firearm violence up close and the lives of the patients that I cared for over the years,” he continued. “These are moms and dads, sons and daughters, all of whom were robbed of their physical and mental health by senseless acts of violence.”

According to Murthy, 54% of adults in the United States have allegedly experienced a firearm-related incident.

And of course, Biden’s Surgeon General found a way to make it a racial issue.

“Beyond these precious lives that are lost to firearm violence, there are wider ripples of harm to those who are injured, who witnessed the incidents, who live in urban and rural communities where such violence takes place, and who constantly read and hear about firearm violence,” Murthy stated. “The collective trauma and fear that Americans are experiencing is contributing to the mental health challenges that we are facing today,” he continued. “Nearly 6 in 10 U.S. adults say they worry about a loved one being a victim of firearm violence.”

But at least one state is refusing to participate in this gun control scheme.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is a champion of the Second Amendment.

DeSantis signed Constitutional Carry into law last year in Florida.

Constitutional Carry allows law-abiding Floridians to carry a concealed firearm without having to jump through hoops or beg the government for permission.

And DeSantis just put Biden and Murthy on notice that Florida “will not comply” with his public health gun control scheme.

“During COVID, unelected bureaucrats used ‘public health’ as a pretext to deprive citizens of their rights– and I signed legislation to protect Floridians from government overreach,” DeSantis wrote on X. “Now, Biden’s Surgeon General is attempting to violate the Second Amendment through the ‘public health’ bureaucracy.”

“We will not comply,” he added. “Florida will always reject the Biden Administration’s unconstitutional power-grabs.”

Gun owners are under attack by Biden and the Democrats.

But firearm owners in Florida can rest assured that Ron DeSantis will not allow Joe Biden to use public health to ban guns in the Sunshine State.
